great place for a drink, plenty of TVs and lots of board games to choose from, solid beer list. parking is tough bc it's near wrigley.

My husband and I hosted our day after wedding event here. He’s a huge Ohio State football fan and Matt the owner went above and beyond to help make it perfect. He brought in tvs from his other bar and let us have the entire outside and porch area for take out food. It was an amazing experience!!! Matt and the entire staff were SO great!! Can’t recommend Guthrie’s and his other bar, Commonwealth, enough!!!

Best bar in the Wrigley / Lakeview area. I hosted a surprise engagement party here for a group of 40ish people, and the team was super accommodating in advance and attentive day-of. Guthries will always be a special place for me.
Special shout out to Bernie for answering all my questions, working with me on semi-private space, ordering extra champagne, etc. The rest of the crew was amazing, too.
Between the staff, the atmosphere, and the beer list, there’s not a bar in Chicago I’d recommend more. Date nights, pregames, night-caps, game nights, or getting engaged…this is the place!

Spectacular neighborhood bar. Excellent craft beers, endless board games and free hot dogs on Cubs gamedays.
Bartender is always friendly and polite, service is quick and the locals are super friendly.

Great low key and cozy neighborhood bar with tons of outdoor seating. We love stopping here before Cubs games for a beer and a free hot dog. Highly recommend for a chill night with friends or a pregame stop-in.

I don't believe there is actually a food menu. But it is a nice neighborhood vibe close enough to Wrigley. Felt more of a comfy/cozy vibe than energetic and upbeat. Standard drink options, nothing extravagant.

Guthries is the best. Bring your friends, bring your family, this place is incredible. Card and board games to keep you entertained all night long. The absolute perfect patio and vibe inside as well. Cute hats, and decor. Definitely a hidden gem here in Wrigleyville.

Had candyland themed Christmas pop-up. They went all out for it. They have an amazing board games collection too. And a back room you can rent out for parties

Loved Guthrie’s overall … but after re opening and new owners they “cleaned it up” . Didn’t seem as charming/warm this time. I will admit - in my current visit I did go during day - and it’s charm of Guthrie’s past truly came from the evening so will have to go back in the evening under new owners. Well priced drinks still and friendly staff! Board games **
