What a great place. I am a Wisconsin native and it doesn't get any more authentic than Millie's. Their broasted chicken is hands down one of the best I have eaten. With its beautiful brine to keep it seasoned perfectly to the light crisp exterior, it's a menu item you should not over look! And in true Wisconsin fashion, Millie's serves up a traditional Wisconsin fish fry that would put some Wisconsin fish fry's to shame!! Whether you are looking for a great meal or just missing some good ole Wisconsin food, Millie's is a must!

We drove from the WI stateline to eat at a WI Supper Club. Actually had a show down the street. We really enjoyed it. Prime Rib was delicious and tender. Bourbon Old Fashion was good. Service was good. We had reservations at 5:30pm. By the time we left at 7, it was getting busy. Millies will be on our list for when we have shows in the area to go to.

Having grown up in northern Wisconsin, I was intrigued by Millie’s promise of a traditional supper club experience. We decided to check it out on a Friday night at 6:30 for the AYCE fish fry. The space is cute, though maybe more reminiscent of a lakeside bar/restaurant than a supper club. The space was about half-full and continued to fill up over the next hour, though didn’t reach full capacity. I missed a salad bar, a true staple of a Wisconsin supper club. (Maybe consider including a side salad with each entree? I understand you have space constraints and a salad bar might not fit.) I also expected bread service and a “relish tray,” another supper club staple. We ordered the cheese curds to start, which had a non-traditional but tasty breading. We all ordered the fish fry which on its own earned 5 stars. Perfectly breaded, flaky but not dry. Marble rye was good. Fries were served hot, though a signature seasoning would really elevate the entire dish. The 3 Lime Gimlet was a favorite. Overall, we were all happy with the food and drinks, though the grasshopper we stared after dinner was a touch too minty.
Now, for the downside, and some advice to ownership/management: make sure you’re adequately staffed. The entire floor was being run by one host, one bartender, and just one server. The true “supper club” part that was missing, for us, was the service and hospitality. It wasn’t our server’s fault...she tried her best, but it was just her. She was clearly stressed and easily annoyed when we weren’t ready to order the second she appeared at the table. The first round of drinks took too long, and you missed out on another $43 round (and probably 80%+ margin) because she never really had a chance to even take another drink order. The host and bartender helped run food when they could, but then they got backed up, too. When our server had a few spare seconds at our table, she was friendly and personable. Call-outs can happen, but you need an on-call backup plan. If a manager was present, s/he wasn’t visible at all. The prime rib that other tables ordered looked amazing, so we’ll likely give Millie’s another shot and hope for better service next time.

As someone who spends a lot of time in Wisconsin, this is as close to an authentic supper club as you can get. Is it Chicago high cuisine? No! Is an extremely friendly atmosphere on a Saturday night in the city? Yes! Prime rib was yummy and what you’d expect from a solid supper club, as were the curds and fish fry. Will be back and recommend to anyone who likes Wisconsin supper clubs.

This place is awesome. Waitress was great super attentive and very interactive. Food was awesome has the prime rib. We had a party of 10 so we tried it all. Everyone was super happy with all the food. Highly recommend.

Nestled quietly off a busy road, a little slice of the Wisconsin woods greeted us inside Millie's Supper Club.
Red naugahyde booths and barstools added to the essence of days long gone.
But the real treat was the Prime Rib (apparently only available on Fridays and Saturdays). Thankfully, we were the first in the door this Friday night.
I grew up with a stepfather who was a chef and he and my mother owned a lake resort restaurant when I was growing up. Up until now, his prime rib was the best I'd ever eaten.
Millie's was pricy, but I'd pay double for it.
Tender, juicy, flavorful. I mean, use a fork to break it apart. I ordered the Roland, 18oz, and it had the right amount of fat and rubbed spices. I took my son and he said to me "it's like the flavor just explodes in my mouth!" I couldn't have said it better.
The lazy Susan was so-so, not going to lie I would have liked it better if it were like they used to be and included in the experience (it was $14.99 by itself) though I must say the smoked trout cheese spread was delicious. Everything else was sort of average on the lazy Susan.
But please don't allow that to skew what you get from my review; if nothing else, Millie's has the best prime rib in Chicago hands down (at a much lower price than some competitors) and for my opinion and money, the best prime rib anywhere.
Thank you, Millie's, for reviving supper clubs outside of Wisconsin.
(I should note, we came to Chicago area from Columbus, Ohio for an event this weekend but specifically drove over an hour into the city to go to Millie's, simply on research & a hunch.) -Nick Yaekle August 31, 2019.

Had dinner for two very early on a Saturday night. Food was outstanding! Walleye filet was piping hot and exceptional. End cut prime rib melted in your mouth. Our server, Kelan, provided excellent and timely service. Not sure if restaurant had enough staff to accommodate what turned out to be a full house as we left. But I can only comment factually on the service we received, and that was friendly and prompt. Not an inexpensive restaurant, but the quality of what we enjoyed was worth the price. Looking forward to a return visit.

Very nice comfortable place. Lighting is surprisingly bright. We split a steak and it was certainly enough. The food was simple but I like that. Price wasn't cheap but it is in the middle of the city (the bar zone on Lincoln). I would probably go back. I would like to be a regular but I don't eat out all that often.

Just like in Wisconsin! Prices a little higher, but on par with Lincoln Park/Chicago. Portions are huge, and delicious! Cheese curds are spot on. Prime rib was maybe the best I've ever had...4 instead of 5 because felt a little like we were rushed, service wise, but there were 10 of us so I get it. We were celebrating my friend's birthday and the complementary piece of cake was the biggest free dessert ever, with ice cream!

Great experience for both my friend and I last evening--everything from the delicious Manhattan's, to the cozy 1950-60's feel of the decor, and the comfortable large booths, and of course, the menu choices. I will be back for the Prime Rib on a Friday or Sat! Sadly, it isn't available the rest of the days of the week, and it wasn't posted in their online menu that it was only available Friday, and Saturday :(
