Third Rail Tavern

We stumbled upon Third Rail after a Phish concert at the nearby United Center - a roughly 15-minute walk. It was the perfect atmosphere and just what we were looking for; warm and low light, decent enough music, happy staff. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The only reason for the 4- star rating was price. I realize it's Chicago, but we were surprised to pay $32 for 2 shots of bourbon (that includes tip). I'd go back but probably stick to beer or rail cocktail.

We felt so welcomed from everyone at the bar. Our bartenders (guillermo and I didn’t get the other guys name. Older rad gentleman) were so happy to serve everyone. Always felt genuine. Even the guy who served us our food was so warm and kind. The regulars talked to the husband and I about our whiskey selection. I hadn’t read reviews for this place but I ordered the portobello wrap with sweet potato fries. Wow!!! So good. I swear. And the husband had the chicken Philly. He enjoyed it. Their whiskey and bourbon selection is beautiful. They even let us taste some of the scotch whiskeys before ordering our pours. We are definitely visiting again. Definitely.

Food was great and for decent prices, too. I actually really enjoyed the bartender working that day. She was so funny and real with us. I wouldn't expect to come here with a group of friends, like I did. There were eight of us and we sat at different tables (which was fine, we didn't care WHERE we sat, just as long as we ate 🤣), so it might be better to come here with four or fewer. Good place - would go back!

The place has a wonderful warm and friendly vibe. The employees were great and chill, and were very accommodating for food adjustment requests. I had an impossible burger with fire fries and a cherry coke and it was delicious! The ingredients were fresh and prepared to perfection. I highly recommend it and would go back any time.

First timer. Burger. Staff, wings were sooo good. My new favorite place when I come to Chicago.......Finally. Got to come back to Third Rail Tavern today. They did not disappoint. Got the T-Chase Burger and tavern fries. Cooked to perfection. Medium rare. Had to order it to go as I was driving back to Indiana. All I can say is. OMG. Love this place.
