Starbucks

I love these Starbucks reserve locations. They have more on the menu then the regular ones. I had my usual and it was a bit stronger which was totally fine with me. Staff is extremely friendly and courteous. Nice design and very clean, even the bathrooms. I came on a game night but way before the game started so it wasn’t busy and I found a table to sit at.

With the weather man predicting a heat index of 107 degrees Fahrenheit, I was naturally easily dehydrated. I just had Starbucks from Southport about 20 minutes ago ( it was a trenta too). My family decided they wanted to raid Pokemon and son had run out of raid passes. He really wanted to raid. So, I told myself I would reward myself with tea afterwards, since the raid was at the marquee. Went in ordered my stuff. I felt this Starbucks is larger than most. It definitely caters more to the coffee reserves group of people. They still offer all the same things as other Starbucks. As far as service goes it's okay. I prefer the Southport branch because they know me there ( I'm a regular). There can be a lot of foot traffic when games or concerts are being held at Wrigley Field. Plus, I noticed employees change often. Making it difficult for employees to get to know you.

We went at around 6:30pm on a Monday night at the end of December. We had to wait in about a 10-15 minute line in the snow to get in. It is interesting to look at on the inside. There are 5 total floors. We ended up ordering a vanilla creme and cold brew float. However, they were out of the cold brew float, so we got a vanilla creme and affogato instead. We waited about 20-30 minutes for our order. They were able to text us when it was ready which was nice. The aggogato was good, but my vanilla creme was just hot milk when I received it. They had to remake it and it was alright, however the same drink at the Seattle Reserve was better. It was also very difficult to find seating. Despite the problems we experienced during our visit, I'd recommend everyone going at least once to try their unique drinks and experience their cool atmosphere. This is an unique Starbucks experience for sure.

I'm no Starbucks aficionado. I don't even drink coffee. But my wife does, and this is her go-to spot because they get her order right every time. I like it because of the atmosphere, the unique seating options, and meeting a variety of people who come to Wrigley. I'm sure there will be people who will critique such a high rating because they don't feel that Starbucks coffee compares to other roasters, or that we should be supporting local, independent chains. But look, if you're looking for a tried-and-true coffee shop, this is a great spot.

Overall: A vast barlike experience make this one of the better Starbucks in the area. The good: This location serves reserve offerings which, while more expensive, are better-tasting than your typical Starbucks flavors. They also have more variety in terms of how it's prepared, and it's all presented in a "bar/cafe" kind of way. The seating is homey and the atmosphere is inviting, instead of some of the typical corporate vibes that Starbucks is famous for. The not-so-good: Not much, I mean, it's just a Starbucks at the end of the day. Food/drink: 8/10 Atmosphere: 8/10 Service: 8/10
