Klein's Bakery Chicago

Very cute place with nice staff and cozy environment. The oat milk cappuccino I ordered was delicious. I also asked for a ham, egg and cheese croissant and was told the egg would be sunny side up (I don’t like to eat an over cooked yolk so that sounded great). I was asked here or to go and not having a lot on my agenda I said for here. I’d seen lots of beautiful cappuccinos on their reviews but I was given mine in a Togo cup. No worries as it still tasted well. Then my food came up and it appeared to be a plain croissant with a Kraft single slice cheese. The ham was delicious but the egg was fried and cooked over hard. I’d like to come back and maybe be more specific in my ordering since I live close by. There was a good amount of customers with out feeling over crowded and even a place for everyone to sit! Pet friendly too! However my first experience here was very meh.

I love this place and I will totally keep supporting them. So full of life and the baked goods are delicious. The Kleins club is delicious and perfect comfort food. There is an onion spread they put on it that is made in house and the flavor is just perfect. The coffee isn't bad at all but it wouldn't be my first choice if I was craving a special coffee.

This could be and should be a local gem. Great location, appealing interior, outdoor dining. But the food and the service take it out of contention. I placed an on line order to pick up. The coffee was about half full (asked them to top it off), the cheese danish was not a typical danish. No flaky layers of pastry. Just an unappetizing dough. They totally forgot to include one of the items so I drive back to get it. Wasn’t worth it. Soggy crust, with ham and a tasteless cream filling. Thought I’d found a new neighborhood go-to. So disappointing.

Great Venezuelan bakery with baked goods like croissants and bagels as well as breakfast sandwiches. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I tried the Klein’s Club sandwich and Spinach and Mushroom Puff as well as an iced vanilla latte - all were great! It seems like a nice spot to stop in for coffee and a pastry or even get some work done.
