Rudy's Bakery

A friend dropped off some Rudy's Bakery treats for us this weekend, and they were all great! A coconut cookie, a few sugar cookies, a raisin cookie, and a glazed cake donut. Very classic, solid treats. My favorite was the cake donut. Sometimes you just want a simple, predictably delicious set of treats, and it seems like this is the place to go for that. Excited to try in-person in the future!

Fantastic find! Rudy has been baking for 47 years, and his pastries are amazing. The bakery is in an unassuming storefront in Roscoe Village, but don't let the front door stop you. You will find delicious food for about half the price of a fancy bakery or coffeehouse in the same neighborhood. I highly recommend the turnovers, almond croissants, and the doughnuts. Honestly, everything I bought was enjoyed by someone, those are the only ones I tried! He bakes all day,so something will have come out of the oven whenever you go in. Support a long time small visit, and stop by the next time you want something sweet.

We have a theory that the less fancy a storefront looks, the better the food is, and Rudy’s is the perfect example. I took one bite of the fruit pastry that I had bought and I turned my car around to go back and buy more things. The prices are very good and wow are all of the pastries fantastic. You can really tell that they’re made with love. Rudy was really nice to me and I will definitely be going back!
