Metropole Restaurant At 21c Museum Hotel

I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars. Our server was friendly was extraordinary slow. She apologized profusely for our long waits but some was due to her inattention. The food, however, was very good. Hence, 4 stars. Conversation can be difficult, depending on where you're sitting but the overall ambiance is nice. We'll return but likely won't rush back.

This place was a great find with a classy vibe, cozy seats, and high quality menu. Startingoff with the salads (brussels and caesar), both were pretty good. They were lightly dressed, but the dressings were excellent; asking for a side of more was a great idea. The salmon was perfectly cooked, with very crispy skin, sitting atop some flavorful beans. That plate was excellent. My plus one rarely gives a reaction while dining out and she was making all sorts of (good) gestures while eating the steak and potatoes. I have no doubt that plate was amazing. Service was very good. We loved the whole experience at Metropole! I'll definitely be back and try some drinks/desserts next time that also looked very good.

The whole aesthetic of the restaurant was a vibe, definitely has a unique menu. The peaches, and grits with the pork dinner. First thought odd! Surprisingly it was really tasteful. Took my girls for our one year anniversary. They gave us champagne for a toast on them. Are waitress was super friendly. But wouldn’t Recommend it to anyone else!!

Dinner and service were both top notch. We had the calamari, tuna tartare, duck, pork loin, salmon, and lobster pappardelle. It was all delicious, but we couldn’t stop raving about the tuna tartare. The pork loin dish (we subbed grits for truffle potatoes) was a close second. Cocktails were also tasty.

We loved our dinner here!!! Our red-headed server was absolutely the best Preparation & presentation was on point & what you would expect from an upscale fine dining restaurant. The prices were reasonable. We had fried oysters, avocado salad and the strip steak. Only the steak wasn't a 10. On the though side. But those mashed potatoes.....Smash. absolutely the best. I want that recipe so I can eat a whole plate full. We tried every dessert on the menu. The olive oil cake was the clear winner!! They give you macaroons if you are celebrating a birthday and they were outstanding. I think it was peanut butter & jelly. Omg. Took us over the top. Would definitely eat here again. Also we enjoyed having the mascot join us. Make a reservation for better seating options.
