Buona Terra

Strongly recommended. We decided to stop here for a treat on a warm day after a visit to Krohn Conservatory, as we had a hankering for gelato. Such a great choice! I like citrus things when I am hot and after some samples of things decided on the pink lemonade sorbet and the lemon curd gelato. Soooo good! The lemon curd gelato is one of the best gelatos I have ever had, and the pink lemonade sorbet was delicious as well. My husband liked his selections as well. This place also has macarons (we took some to go that were really tasty). We saw they also have a candy selection, but we didn't explore that. Great little spot, will definitely return when we are next in the area and want some gelato /sweet treats.

Update: aka Sweet Hunter with new owner and no crepes but gelato to die for. My personal favorite is the Lemon Basil sorbet. Step inside this unassuming Mt. Lookout eatery and you will culinary transport yourself to Europe with their crepes, macaroons, and gelato. It is a no-lose proposition. Eat in or carry out. Either way you will enjoy.

It was my first time coming here and I absolutely loved the pistachio gelato! I highly recommend because you could taste the pistachio, not like other places that mute the flavor. The inside was quite small and full the day we went, so we didn't sit in, but we walked outside to a nearby bench. I like the atmosphere of the place, I thought it was very cute and cozy. It's a good place to bring a friend and to have coffee dates. The price was a little higher, but if you're willing to have good gelato, it was worth it! We got the strawberry and pistachio gelato! I didn't get to try anything else, but I would come back!

I first heard about Buona Terra at the Taste of Cincy. It is hands down the best gelato you can find in Cincinnati. I am from Houston, where there is some of the best, most authentic gelato, and I can attest that this is right on par. Forget those nasty, powder based gelato places. The crepes, similar to that of sweet Paris. The best part is that they really load up your cup with Gelato here so you get the perfect amount.
