Anderson Pub & Grill

Party of 5 of us went on a Saturday night. It was slightly busy. A lot less busy than expected for a Saturday night. About half the tables were empty. The decor was good, a local pub and grill style so kudos on that. The food was nothing special some of the combos were nice. Burgers were typical of a $12-$14 burger, not a place I would go out of my way for burgers but I wouldn't say no if I was in the area and someone suggested it. Service was dreadful. We got seated right away, 20 minutes to get drink order in. Another 20 before we could put in our app orders, and almost an hour before we got our food. I'll give it another try but hopefully the staff can get better trained. Also I got shoulder checked twice by staff walking through the restaurant, with no apologies. There was a lot of standing around for the servers chatting loudly amongst themselves with conversations best suited for adults and not the children they were in the ear shot range of up to and including cussing. Either be family friendly or not. I had no children there and don't really care personally but if they were my staff in this instance there would have been a right up warning. Also stay off your phone as a server while on the floor.

It doesn't look like much from the outside (if you even notice it) but don't let that put you off, it's a nice friendly place inside with excellent food and good beer. We went there as part of "Cincinnati Wing Week 2021." They had a dozen or more beers on tap, including from the local brewery Streetside. Happy hour prices were 3-6 pm, with daily specials and discounts for various combinations. Their dry-rub wings were excellent, as was the special of the day, lamb Gyros. Service was nice and friendly, and the meals were delivered quickly. Update Feb 2022: This has become one of our favorite mid-week dinner places; from the size of the crowd there, it is a very popular local gathering. Try their Pulled Pork sandwich, it's great! The only ding I'll give is that they don't have a great variety of tap beers, but they always have had something good. Service is usually excellent even when they're busy. Update May 2022: This continues to be an excellent place for a great inexpensive meal and a brew. Update 10/27/2022: Still a very nice relaxing place to go for tasty inexpensive meal and and a beer. Friendly, reliable service and consistently good food. The pulled pork is still excellent and at a great price on Thursdays.
