Food Plenty

Had dinner there with family. The food, service and ambiance are all well done. The menu is full of comfort food will a twist. The twist is often an alternative flavor or new ingredient. For example, I had shrimp and grits that had a glaze on the shrimp. The service was great, attentive without being rushed. Finally the setting is spacious farmhouse feel with lots of hip reclaimed wood. Their beer and bourbon list is also above average.

I'm only being generous with the stars because I like the decor (the ceiling lights are a nice touch) and the bathroom just amazing! Like seriously, that was the best part of my time there. First off, there were 5 servers just walking back and forth doing nothing. One kept cleaning the same table, and after a 10 minute wait he finally acknowledged us, and made some b.s. excuse for the wait. The menu is very limited, nothing stood out to me except the corn bread, and that wasn't anything close to cornbread. It was rubbery and kinda cold. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp and grits and a milkshake, the milkshake was the only thing that was true to taste. I had the chicken dumplings, it was good, not spectacular. This version of their farm to table is nothing in comparison to their other restaurant Manor Hill Tavern, that's good eating there.

Hand cut fries must have been precut, were pretty much inedible. Nothing here was worth the exorbitant price. Atmosphere is a good selling point. I'd only recommend if you like a posh place and don't care about the food. They were receptive to criticism I'd be willing to give it another try down the line.

Another great addition to the Victoria group. They have a neat take on comfort food. The gumbo pot pie was large enough to be a meal for one. I love the greens - they still had some crunch. The deviled eggs were tasty as were the shrimp and grits. It’s hard to go wrong here. We at at the bar and Mark was spot on and makes a fine Old Fashioned and they have 20 or so taps. It’s a large, airy space upstairs. The outside bar and patio will be great when the weather cooperates.
