A great chill Tavern spot downtown for friends to relax with awesome quality food and wonderful prices. Service is super friendly. Street parking can be tough in busy hours. Full review: Quality of food is really delicious and quality. When busy it will take some time to get your food but that is expected. For the prices they are amazing. Waffles were delicious and chicken was not tough. Cheese filled crepes are absolutely amazing. Ambience is pretty lively and a great place for fam and friends. Would not recommend for kids. Service is super friendly and helpful, but as with anything downtown parking can be tough. Limited vegan and vegetarian options, but am sure menu items fan be modified. Just ask.

Consistently great food. Sometimes the servers act like they don’t really want to be there. Speaking as a former server myself, I get it but it’s not the greatest feeling as a customer to be hesitant to ask for things. Nonetheless, I will always support XYZ. Nothing better than gnawing on some of their delicious ribs or their incredible Reuben sandwich while I watch a tribe game from their patio in the summertime. A true gem of Gordon Square which deserves your patronage. Oh yeah one more thing - get a slice of pizza. They’re huge and are really tasty.

I have absolutely no complaints about this place. We went on a whim. Upon walking into this place, you smell the it leads the way. We sat indoors since it was a bit cool, but the food would've heated us up quickly cause we dove in immediately! The pita chips that some with the spinach artichoke dip are AMAZING. Fresh! Crispy! They're the best I've ever had. The spinach artichoke dip was very chunky. Not the way i prefer it, but it was still good. The BBQ pulled pork was finely shredded. I get so tired of getting chunky pulled pork when I order it, so it was very nice to have it shredded to my liking. FYI, I did not ask that they do it. The sauce was so-so, but it didn't take away from it being good. The ribs literally melted in your mouth. They didn't give you that "fresh off the grill or smoker" kind of feel but still top-notch. My friend got the brisket & said it was by far the best she has ever had. The Cole slaw is homemade and delicious. Cole slaw is very subjective because everyone has their own take, but #winning. The fries were great. And they give a hefty amount of everything. The pizza looked amazing. It will definitely be ordered next time. Long story short, I will return.

It’s open seating, so you can choose anywhere free to sit. I liked that there was both seating inside and outside (on their patio). The walleye tacos were great (first time I had walleye) my partner for the walleye platter with fries, which he told me was good. The staff was nice and pleasant. Loved that you could feel this is a nice local place to eat.

I discovered this great restaurant in 2020 and have been back quite a few times, since then. I'm so glad I found it! On my first visit, I ordered two slices of pizza with sliced tomatoes. The slices were large and the pizza was excellent. The crust was perfectly cooked, the sauce was well-seasoned, and the cheese was melted and gooey. I also ordered a draft beer and the bartender was very knowledgeable about the beer selection and made a great recommendation. On a following visit, I was torn between the blackened walleye tacos and the chicken and waffles. I ultimately decided on the chicken and waffles and I was not disappointed. The chicken was perfectly cooked and it was both crispy and juicy. The waffles were light and fluffy and they were served with a delicious maple syrup glaze and some amazing smoked poultry gravy. These have become my favorite chicken and waffles in Northeast Ohio. I've been back multiple times since writing this review, and everything I've ordered has been delicious. The service is always friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is casual and inviting. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal.

Had brunch on the patio with my dog and a date this Saturday. Delicious meal, and very attentive, kind wait staff/owner. Wonderful meal.. I got the special of crab cakes with a poached egg and Hollandaise sauce and fruit. The waiter brought out ice water in a bowl for my dog. This was my first time there. We took our time and the waiter kept coming back to check our needs in a timely way. The back patio was lovely and lightly shaded which was nice for warm weather. The atmosphere was casual and tucked back away from the street. I would highly recommend. I would go again in a heartbeat. Thanks so much!!! 👏👏👏👏

I’ve been coming to XYZ since 2015 and hands down this is one of my go to’s on the west side of Cleveland. Reasonable prices and great value for both food and drinks. The staff here is also friendly and upbeat and I have yet to have a bad experience whether I’m dining in or taking out. XYZ Tavern is truly a staple in the Gordon Square Arts District and if you’ve never been what the hell are you waiting for!

My partner and I took our dads here for Father’s Day! The food was great! We definitely recommend the Chicken and Waffles, Brisket platter, & the Cleveland cheese steak sandwich! Although it was not too busy, we felt a little rushed by our server. Other than that, we will absolutely be back to try more!
