Clifton Martini & Wine Bar

Food is decent but incredibly overpriced. Cheese trays are amazing and great quality, but could be a bit larger again due to the price. Variety of wine and martinis. Service is friendly and polite, but sometimes slow. Some of the menu descriptions are a little misleading. From a non-vegan standpoint, it seemed very vegan friendly.

Clifton was a great place for vegan options. They had quite a few choices, vs most restaurants that offer 1 if you're lucky. Staff was lovely, and very helpful. Also had cigars which was a wonderful touch. The atmosphere overall was great. That being said, I wanted to LOVE this place and give it 5 stars, but not 1 dish knocked it out of the park for me. Every dish was definitely good don't get me wrong, but I didn't get the amazing that I was hoping for based on other reviews I've seen. The chickpea sliders was a little plain, the garlic in the pesto on the mushroom flatbread needed to be pressed with salt prior to addition so that it didn't have that raw flavor, the cauliflower coating didn't match the bbq flavor of the dish. The sundried tomato bruschetta was probably the best thing we had. If I were to return it would probably be more for the atmosphere of the patio, cigars, and martinis (which are all great), and I'd enjoy an appetizer as a complement to those other great things they knock out of the park;)

To give a little context regarding our experience, we were out with friends celebrating a wedding as a group of 8. This was my first time at this restaurant. Our waiter was filling in (not sure why) and was very inexperienced. I don't like to speak negatively about others, I just want to share the experience as it happened because I think it reflects the business itself. He was extremely slow, which wasn't too much of a bother in our case because we were talking and enjoying company the whole time. Each of us had to repeat ourselves multiple times, it took 25 minutes for me to get a beer, it took another 30 minutes to get the check after he said he would bring them. The food was pretty good. I got the clifton burger and would have preferred a condiment of some kind but all the ingredients tasted fresh. My wife got the lobster roll and that was tasty. She also got a martini (our first ever) and it tasted good to our inexperienced palate. All in all, I would give this place another shot.

I truly love this place. They have a dedicated vegan menu, I’ve heard their steak is excellent as well, they make staples extremely well, they have a beautiful drink selection. For a moderate size restaurant you can go here for whatever kind of vibe you’re looking for. The bar and the front patio are both relaxed. The elevated lounge area Is a great place to meet friends. The restaurant area is great for a date out. Well done

Really great evening. Good atmosphere and excellent menu selections -- we were very happy with the ribeye, salmon caesar, citrus shrimp app and chocolate bomb. The bar and waitstaff are professional, friendly, attentive and experts in the beverages they serve. The Clifton is a solid choice any night of the week.
