Summit Cafe

All I can say about this place is WOW. The service and atmosphere is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Michelle brightens my day when I get my breakfast. The food is NEXT LEVEL diner food. Get the Andy Sammy special for breakfast. Must stop for anyone traveling to the area looking for a great meal and a great experience.

Truly a gem! If you work nearby, you owe it to yourself to skip Chipotle or Wendy’s on your lunch break and check this place out. I recommend calling them to order ahead of time and they usually will have your food ready within 10-20 mins max. I’ve been eating here for almost 8 years, since I started working in the area. The prices are reasonable and I honestly can’t think of anything bad I’ve had here with the exception of a veggie burger a few years back (just not my thing I guess). My favorite is their quesadilla with onions and peppers. They have a great salad bar, their sandwiches and burgers are excellent, and their breakfast sandwiches are worth coming into work a few minutes late to stop and grab one! Try the monster hash too- so good. My favorite sides are the onion rings and tater tots, but they have lots of choices. I primarily work remote these days, but when I do come into the office, I love getting lunch here. Almost makes having to go into the office worth it :)

If this place had a restaurant that was open all the time in my neighborhood it would shut down all the others. Their burgers are better than everyone else's. 7 bucks and come with fries. Salad bar is fresh. Soups delicious. Breakfast sandwiches awesome. I don't know why this guy doesn't open up outside of a tucked away office building. This is the best place to eat lunch in Independence. And Breakfast!
