Baja Fresh Of Clovis

The service here is mediocre I did not like how I was kind of rushed when ordering this was my very first time ever coming to Baja fresh and the lady at the register seemed very annoyed when I was trying to make my order. The salsa did not taste fresh, my brother ordered a chicken burrito and he was not impressed he was not able to finish his food. I had to shrimp tacos they taste OK but for the price the food should be fresh there is a sign above the register that says all natural so you would think the food would be fresh. The whole atmosphere in the restaurant was kind of blah I don’t think I will be stopping by another Baja Fresh. Even though Baja fresh probably has been in business before Rubio‘s I think this has a Rubio kind of feel to it except the menu is a little confusing.

I tried the BBQ Chicken Salad, and was very impressed. Great dressing, fresh greens, and huge flavor. The chicken meat wasn't perfect, but it tasted fine. The chips, guacamole, and salsa were all great. Perhaps the best part of the meal was the service. The cashier was extremely friendly and excited to serve, and he checked up on me a couple of times during my meal even though it's not a waited restaurant. This place is well worth a shot if you're in the mood for fresh, flavorful, and fast Mexican.

The food here is very tasty. The best fish tacos we have found in the area. Their Wednesday fish taco specials are good deals. However, they randomly close early. I've gone by twice to find the place completely closed down on a Sunday afternoon. Once was Mother's Day. I understand - employees have mothers too. But the other time they were just closed.

I used to go to this location all of the time (about 3x a month for over a year). I got to know the manager very well and loved the place! My husband and I haven't been going as much lately since we have been trying to eat better and save money but the last 2 times that we have gone, we have been quite disappointed. Today we went in only for chips and a drink and it was pretty crowded. It looks to me like they are under new management, as I no longer recognize the people that work there and I had never seen the lady that claimed to be the manager before. First off, neither of the people at the front (one lady and one man) had a name tag on so I can't tell you who they were. The man tried to tell me that I couldn't order just chips, that I had to order either chips and guac or chips and salsa. So after going around in circles with him for a while, the lady finally came over and said yes you can order a bag of chips for $1 so we ordered 2 and a soda. The Coke Zero was out when my husband went to fill our cup- no big deal though. I understand that this happens, especially when a restaurant is busy. Then I asked for the $1.05 that was left on my gift card back in cash (in California it's a law that you can get the cash back off of your gift card if the remaining balance is under $10). She told me that I couldn't do that because the owner specifically told her they don't do that at this location. I explained to her that it was a law and she said that she would make a phone call to the owner to show me that they weren't allowed to do it. So I waited while she helped 3 other customers in front of me and then called. She stepped away from the register but I could still hear her conversation and heard her say "yes I know we can do it but I don't remember how". She then hung up and came over to me and asked me to read the back of the gift card (in a quite condescending way) and the gist of what it said was no cash back except required by law. I then proceeded to pull up the law on a .gov website and showed it to her. She grabbed my phone from me and started scrolling around. She finally wound up giving me the $1.05 but was just so rude the entire time. I was trying to be polite and explain it to her; however, she did not seem to care one bit. I'm glad I used up my gift card, as I will not be returning here! New management is terrible. Chips and soda tasted fine but it's pretty hard to screw those up.

Whoa. I ordered a steak burrito, but the chef mistaked my order for a Bell pepper burrito with a hint of steak. Great place to go if you love being overwhelmed with bell peppers. (Not the first time they have done this.) Nor will it be the last. Love the food. I just pick the peppers out and make a pile to toss out. I understand bell peppers are cheaper than steak, but come on.

I have a food allergy & can't eat onions. Since everything is prepared early in day (w/ onions), there was no way to "hold" the onions. the only option they offered me was a quesadilla. I was in a hurry & hungry, so I ordered a shrimp quesadilla for $10. It was a little larger an average tortilla, with cheese, and about 10 pieces of baby shrimp. Not worth the price or time.
