The Famous Steak House

Okay so let me first say apologies for my Ted Talk… I am going to RAVE about my experience. I am currently sitting here having dinner & cannot wait to write this review. To start, I manage a 5 star restaurant in Colorado Springs & am VERY hard to impress. I have been waiting for a server/bartender who would give me the level of service deserving of a $100 tip on a lower bill. Everyone, come & FILL UP Bens bar. Ben made me feel so welcomed, happy, & seen. I came in alone & felt more noticed than I usually ever am. The NY Steak was perfect. The wine was amazing. He made me the best old fashion I’ve ever had in my whole life. Like I said, I am VERY picky from the server & bartender I was in my time. Ben, you are who I’ll come to when I want to splurge. You are amazing & I hope the owners & managers give you everything you deserve. I’ll see you soon! Peyton :) thank you.

Best place in Colorado Springs for a beautiful cut and cooked steak. The famous steak house has the most professional and well trained staff in the springs. We go here periodically for special events and they never disappoint. Personal recommendations are the crab cakes, loaded baked potato, New York strip and their phenomenal creme brûlée.

You can never go wrong with the Famous. We made a reservation for my girlfriends birthday and were seated immediately upon arrival. All of the staff were professional, cordial, and most of all personable. The pacing of the courses was done impeccably, and there was no sense of urgency to turn a table over. All of the food was beyond perfect and was well worth the price. I was pleased to hear about the surf and turf special as I was torn between mashed potatoes, asparagus, filet, and fish. The majority of my table ordered the surf and turf special. Our bartender/server also made my aviation perfectly. We went during a Sunday dinner, and for such quality, I would suggest making reservations for an even seenless experience. Cheers to the famous steak house for such a pleasant experience.

The only reason I didn't give a 5 is lackluster ambiance. My guess is this place was pretty amazing in the 80s but hasn't been updated since. That being said, the food was spot on. I ordered the 10oz filet that I ordered medium rare. It's may have been a slight bit more well that I'd prefer the flavor was great. It was seasoned with the perfect amount of salt and pepper...just the way it should be. It was served with the perfect amount of char and crust. They also have a decent wine list. They have a great assortment of the normals and then several higher end bottles. The service was top-notch. Everyone was very nice and very accommodating. If you're looking to impress business clients who prefer a more affluent feel. I'd skip it. But if you want a great steak, I highly recommend it.

We chose The Famous Steak House to do an intimate gender reveal for our first child and I was absolutely blown away with Brian C. and the care he took in making this evening perfect. The food was top-notch, the atmosphere was amazing, and the entire staff was incredible. Thank you for making our night everything we imagined and more!

We loved every thing about our dinner this evening, the food, ambience, and service. I’ve been in the Springs for several years and can’t believe I’ve been missing out for so long. My Waygu flatiron was cooked and seasoned to perfection. My husband had the Tomahawk pork and loved it. It was tender with a crisp coating. My mom had the filet and we all agreed some of the best food we’ve had. The sides are portioned to share which our server made us aware. The prices look steep upon first notice but portion size makes up for that. I have enough steak left over for 2 more meals along with sides. Can’t wait to go back for another meal.
