Taco Express

My husband loves a machaca burrito from San Diego. This place knows what we're talking about! Huge burrito, packed with shredded beef, onions and egg. DELICIOUS! The red sauce was just hot. Not much flavor. We like hot but this just seemed heavy on chili powder. The green sauce is much more flavorful! We also ordered spicy carrots which were a great nibble between burritos bites. Saved half of my HUGE burrito for breakfast!

Food is always good. But, if you are there early and you are going to eat inside be ready for a staff who is not ready to open. 30 minutes after opening all the chairs were still up on the tables and there was no coffee made. When I told the staff member that the chairs were not put down yet she told me I could put them down. I told her no and that they were going to do it. She came out with attitude and got down only the chairs that we were going to be using and then went back into the kitchen. It took another 30 minutes to get coffee, all while other people came in to order and had no where to sit. Next time, we will just stick to the drive thru.

One of my 2 go to taco shacks. These remind myself of the southern California taco places. Prices are reasonable. The price is about average but the food is above average. The people who work here are always friendly. The wait may be a moment but they make everything fresh and hot so really worth the couple of minutes to get great food.

On my most recent visit I got a bean and cheese burrito and adobato tacos. The drive-thru cashier was wearing a face mask and gloves. It was strange to physically sign a receipt in a drive-thru, but the food was ready in just a few minutes. I was surprised by a heavy weight of it, and it was nicely warm. I like the pico de gallo and guac on the tacos, which are meaty. The burrito was large, which I could have shared with my wife. Both of us ate for under $14. We would definitely go again.
