House Of Yakitori 5

Haven’t been out in a while and my wife and I have been craving Thai food so we came to Hello Thai & Yakitori for a quick bit. We got the pineapple curry with beef and really enjoyed the taste. We also got the Gyoza, which my son enjoyed and we also got the papaya salad, which was a bit on the salty side but overall a good experience and we will be back if we’re in the Rockrimmon area.

My only issue with this restaurant is that the pad Thai doesn't consistently taste the same. I've been frequenting this spot for the past month, trying out several items on their menu: pad Thai (chicken and special), crab rangoons (crab delight), coconut shrimp, shrimp shumai, Thai tea, Thai coffee, Thai donuts, and cucumber salad. The pad Thai never tasted as good as the first time I purchased it (I purchased this dish about 3 or 4 times), and I didn't really like the coconut shrimp (it was tasty but too batter-y for me - I know that's not a word). Still, I fell in love with their crab rangoons, shrimp shumai, Thai donuts (which come with condensed milk), and cucumber salad (so much so that I wanted to try and replicate this salad at home). I haven't had the opportunity to dine-in at this location, but I have enjoyed the benefit of having their meals delivered to me.

I stopped in at dinner time. I ordered chicken pad kee mow to go. It cost $15.14 after tax. It was ready in about 15 minutes. The gentleman that took my order was very helpful. The spice was great! The vegetables were perfectly prepared and fresh. The chicken was juicy and delicious. There was a perfect balance of meat, vegetables and noodles. A good thing as far as I'm concerned: in my bag was a set of chopsticks. No plasticware. If you want a fork, ask. I love that they didn't assume I wanted it, and gave traditional utensils! I considered getting Spring Rolls, but the only option I saw on the menu was for an order of 5. Next time I'll ask if I can order one or two. I will eat there again.

Hello Thai and Yakitori is a bit out of the way in Rockrimmon, but now it's worth going! This place has a new look, new owner and a very talented chef who knows how to cook! I only ate here once in the past and the kitchen looked dirty and the food was dry and cold. I love yakitori, but they managed to ruin it. Having recently dined here again I was so happy to find that the food and the service were amazing. I had papaya salad and yakitori. Both were excellent, fresh and well prepared. The owners are a lovely Thai couple who have really changed the food and atmosphere. I think that this will be my go to for Thai food in Colorado Springs. I definitely recommend trying it out!
