Marebear's Cafe

Just tried this place out for the first time today. It's a tiny little shop on S Academy. We had the biscuits and gravy plate. Came with a biscuit with just gravy, egg, breakfast meat, and tater tots. Also had a half order of biscuits and cocoa gravy. First dish was not over-sized, flavor of white gravy was phenomenal and bacon was thick and crispy without overcooking. Now the cocoa gravy... OMG it was different and tasted amazing. They serve over a biscuit but I think I'd like to see it with pancakes. The atmosphere was like having a meal in grandma's kitchen. Our waitress, who I am pretty sure was Mare Bear, was pure sweetness and light. Christmas carols were playing in the background and the walls have comments from customers that show the love shown by Mare Bear is reflected right back by her customers. If you like the HOME in your homecooked meals to be the atmosphere as well as the food, this is your place!!!

Great family owned and operated diner with a menu of breakfast and lunch options that are available from open to close! The food was excellent and came out rather quick. Great experience chatting with Momma K and her son as well. Grabbed a waffle breakfast chicken sandwich deluxe with sausage and a bowl of macaroni and cheese and orange juice. Odd pairing but I don't regret it!

The owners are super sweet and the food is DELICIOUS! We came all the way from FL and this is a place I would eat everyday. The food is home cooked, delicious and filling. The cocoa gravy biscuits are a MUST TRY. YOU better believe we will be back tomorrow for more! The prices are affordable. I paid 7.95 for 2 scrambled eggs, 2 sausage patties, tatter tots and 1/2 a biscuit with cocoa gravy. DELICIOUS!
