Big Jt's Bbq

Ever since Indiana Smokehouse closed for good, I had been trying to find another good BBQ joint in the area. I’ve been told I should try Big JT’s and recently I was finally able to do so. Unfortunately, we came at a pretty bad time (A Saturday at roughly 1 PM only an hour before they closed) and as a result, they were out of at least half their menu. Thankfully they had a few things that I like so I went with it anyway. Pros: First off, the employees were super friendly. I had ordered the pulled pork with a side of baked beans as a change and honestly it was pretty good. It was cooked really well and was fresh and hot. The beans were interesting and had good flavor. Overall Not bad. Cons: One thing they should know is that I think that they should smoke their pork a little more. It didn’t have very much flavor to it and didn’t stand out enough. But overall, I’ll come back at a better time to try their brisket. For now, they got a good 4 out of 5 on this one!

Visited 6/25/22 today 1:52p We made it here in the “nick” of time before closing, they were closing shop but still had some food. We bought 1lb of pork butt and side of Mac n cheese. The accompanying sauce was sweet and also “hot”. We absolutely loved it! The guys at the shop were super friendly and generous! Thank you for allowing us to try your food. The place was clean and open. The price for a can of soda was only thing we thought was high - $1 for 12oz but if you’re thirsty then buy the dang soda LOL We got home and the wife said, wish I would have gotten the Pepsi. We will visit again and try more things… If you like BBQ this is the place in Columbus! Thanks again for your kindness during our visit.

I had seen this place on Google and Yelp a few times and for some reason I hadn't got around to eating here. Boy, have I been missing out! I had already had my mind made up about the Macaroni and Pulled pork or as they call it "The Mac Attack".. As I stood there and waited for my order I saw a bunch of the other stuff and I saw so many things I couldn't wait to try. Not long after. They served me my food. Mannnnn... this thing is no joke. Every bite was a slice of heaven. The staff recommended adding baked beans to it. Of course I didn't object. This thing was a meal for two and still super reasonably priced. By the flavor of this food and the personality of the staff I could tell these guys take a lot of pride in their work. Columbus has been needing a good BBQ place like this for a while. And let me tell you guys this, it's here! Half way through my meal the owner say's, "Here man you gotta try the brisket." The man puts a whole serving of brisket in front of me. JUST SO I CAN TRY IT! Come on man!?.. this stuff just doesn't happen anymore. JT'S BBQ is officially one of my fav places to eat.. ANYWHERE. Now, if you are like me, I'm going to be trying to eat here regularly. So that way these guys can start opening up for Dinner. 😉 They say location is a problem, but I would drive an hour for this Cue & Hospitality. 10/10
