Round Mountain Coffee

Round Mountain Coffee simply sealed a little hole in my heart after just moving back to the United States from Italy. If I lived closer, I’d be here daily, if not weekly. The owners and workers are so kind, helpful, and over all very pleasant to meet and learn more about their passions as you order a drink that you will SURELY love! They are willing to tailor the drink to your liking… so don’t be afraid to ask questions. Their passion for coffee is revealed in each cup of goodness that they craft for their customers. These guys really made my morning after a horrible evening and night. I walked in with my hair all a frizz and barely awake. My night had been restless on a hideaway sofa bed, keeping an eye on my recovering grandmother. She had woken up suddenly and crying, frantic and distressed. I got her to calm down with the promise of a good cup of coffee. That promise in a nursing facility, is like embarking on a holy quest. Thankfully, Round Mountain Coffee was just around the corner and her entire face lit up. Sleepiness and distress melted away and her lucidity came back. My grandma looked up at me with clear awareness and smiled so sweetly as she recognized me for the first time that morning. Thank you so much for a good cup of coffee.

Good coffee spot in an even better location! They’ve got a good selection of coffees and teas - a bit pricey, though. The staff seem knowledgeable- maybe a bit tooooo much? 😬 I got the feeling like I wasn’t on their level & a little hesitant to ask questions. Decent sized main eating area - it can get fairly loud because there aren’t other walls to break up the sound. Would definitely go back!

Stopped in Round Mountain today after yoga. I love supporting local and it is in the same shopping center so I thought I'd give it a try. Wasn't feeling coffee today but tried their Dick and Jane Iced Tea and was pleasantly surprised at how much I really enjoyed it! They have a great selection, very welcoming and bright/open space. I do feel the price was high for the size of tea you get at $5 but it was definitely a nice local splurge treat after yoga!

The beans they roast are fairly average, nothing particularly special to them. Because of this, the quality of their drinks is altered. The pour over coffee I had was extremely under-extracted and was lacking most of the flavor I was hoping to experience in my cup based on the description. The staff is overall very nice, they obviously care very passionately about their craft and do the best they can with the beans they’re provided. The space was very clean and quaint. I really enjoyed looking at the merchandise they sell (which include Fellow products!) The bathroom is also where their mop sink is and they have used, dirty mops just chilling with you in the bathroom. It was clean, just a little off putting. In a nutshell, it is a very solid coffeeshop with very passionate baristas at the helm. The only thing holding them back is the quality of their beans. I know that lately coffee beans have been getting harder and harder to come by, so the quality may not be fully in their control. If it is something they can change however, I highly suggest that they look into sourcing from an alternative farm or adjusting their roasting style.
