Franke's Cafeteria, Conway, Ar

The hostess, wait staff and line servers are pleasant. The atmosphere is welcoming. I wasn't impressed with the food. Baked fish was bland; rice was sub par, bread roll was hard/dry, and the sweet tea is really fake tea (semi sweet colored water with not even a faint trace of tea). The vegetables were the best choice. Delectable greens, beans, cabbage and mixed veggies cooked to perfection. Sweet potato pie was lacking, but my son loved the chocolate cake. Worst of all flies and gnats near the window booths took over our food. I informed our waitress and she replied "Ma' am the flies are everywhere." True to her words, we moved ourselves to another booth and the experience was much of the same. Needless to say, I will not be going back. I sure miss The Dixie Cafe.

Tonight was our third time to try this location. Once again it was only mediocre. I had a salad, watermelon, and broiled whitefish. I would give all of these a 4. My wife had fried chicken that she returned because it was so dry. The chicken was replaced by a hamburger steak and gravy that was so chewy she didn’t finish it. She also had a baked potato that was too dry returned and replaced by another dry baked potato. Her watermelon and pickled beets were a 5. I tried one of their biscuits; one bite was enough, actually it was too much, definitely a one. The service was very good; I would give it a five. Prices were average.

If I could rate this zero stars that is exactly what I would do. 53 dollars for the nastiest food I have ever ate. My daughters picked this place for her birthday dinner and didnt even eat the birthday cake. But our face expressions as we tried the food and good laughs was worth the worst experience today. First and last time!!

The layout to get your food was confusing. Once you get your tray and silverware to get the food the staff is not really helpful in how or what you can get cause they have specials that include different meats and if you want an extra item its additional cost. Not to mention we were told our drink was included but that was misleading. Opened my wrapped silverware only to have a long hair fall into my food. After that the smell of what they called a salmon patty hit my senses and sent me literally into gagging mode. Thankfully I found a coupon sitting on the ledge to use for the wasted nasty food. Service was okay but don't understand why there would be a waitress to be tipped when the individual is responsible to get their food and drink in the first place. Will never go to this place again! This place literally makes me sick to even thinking about it.

I was not happy with service here tonight! Manager was very rude to one of her staff members. She was standing in the kitchen door yelling at her. Everyone in the lobby was about to hear. Our waitress came over asked if we needed anything. We told her we did didn’t come back or didn’t check on us. Needed a refill nobody would help us. Had to go ask for a to go plate. Call to talk to a manager some worker acted if she was the manager! Told her I would reach out some one else! This place need some help before they close!!!!
