La Rosa Bakery

Love this place, I've been going for years, but todays purchase was different. Most of the pastries I bought tasted great, but once I got to the pastelitos, I was shocked! It tasted weird; it didn't have the usually guava color and taste to them and they were so small too. I would hate to leave a bad review but I was honestly not satisfied with my purchase since the best part tasted terrible!

I started going to La Rosa on 72nd and 87th when my son, who is now 47, was in a stroller. I now visit the one on Flagler St. Their customer service is the worst I have ever seen. Today I started calling and called FIVE times, just ringing and them going to a message that says voicemail is full. I wanted to order something and drove over there to find three ladies talking among themselves, and one on a personal cell phone. I asked them if they didn’t answer the phone and the reply was, they had been busy. Obviously they were out of what I wanted to order. I then asked about five small empanadas in the display, she said they were guava, I asked her to give them to me. There was also a box with small pastelitos which she said were meat, I also asked for them. Total was $11.85. I gave her $21.85 and she gave me $8 back instead of $10. I asked her why and her response was I had given her $20.85. I told her no, I was sure of what I had given her and even if that was the case, she had to give me $9 back. She just shrugged and looked away. I was tired of the arguing, so just left. When I got to the car it turned out the guava were not small empanadas but large pasteles! The pastries were not meat but meat and cheese! Why am I taking the time to write this review?? Because if I were the owner I woukd like to know what is going on.

I have had high expectations of this bakery but my recent experience has been very disappointing... I purchased a chocolate cake for a very important occasion a day before.. surprisingly the cake lack of flavor....and was not the same as a sample offered to me at the bakery....low quality products ... do not buy from here and take your business somewhere else

This place has been here forever. The pastry is Fantastic. The Cuban sandwiches are Fantastic. The cakes are Fantastic. The bread is Fantastic. The cafe con leche is Fantastic. The service is Fantastic. Make sure you get a ticket number. The place gets packed. It's no wonder because you can't go wrong with whatever you choose!
