Fugato

We live very close by so we decided to try it after a friend recommended this restaurant. Its small and cozy place to go with family and friends or on date night. I went with my husband and left very happy to have found this gem 2 blocks from our house. The service was excellent and the food was very good. The ambiance was very nice, noce music not very loud. Everything from presentation to flavor was on point. We will definitely be back with our family. Edited review: Went again with another couple and we had a great time and really enjoyed our dinner. Everything we ordered was delicious. Our friends took a bottle of wine and they charge you a corkage fee which is a plus if you have a bottle you want to enjoy. We ordered another bottle to pair with our food and was a good recommendation from our server. We were very happy and had a wonderful dinner.

Fugato has to be one of the best fine dining restaurants were it doesn’t dent your wallet. It can go head to head with any top restaurant in South Florida for there quality of food, taste and price. Its a rare find to see in Miami.!!! The best part is we live in Coral Gables and we can literally walk to Fugato. 😀 So we walk in to this newly renovated restaurant with around 20-25 tables give or take and your greated by your host, we had made reservations so we were seated immediately. The atmosphere and vibe is like if it was and extension of your dining room and you had a private party in your home. Within minutes your served water and the VIP treatment begins…. This dinning experience we did with our good friends, and one of them is Italian so expectations were high, so the food had to be on point with even Michelin ⭐️ rating because our friends were recommended by there friends as well. We had the pleasure to be waited on by either the owner, manager or a very extremely knowledgeable waiter which was a master at his craft, i will definitely edit this review with his name. Our friends took a bottle of their own wine and this restaurant offers a very well priced service to serve your own wine if you bring it. We started off with the recommendations of 4 cheese croquettes and salmon tartare on tostones, both were delicious but the croquettes get a 6 stars. As we drank our wine and enjoyed the dining with our friends the ambiance was perfect not to loud and not to low were you would be bothering our guest. Pretty shocking you will find lots of choices for your main course that all will taste amazing, i know cause we tasted our friends food as well. I ordered the risotto with calamari and lobster, and my wife a pasta that was to die for. Our friends ordered ossobuco with risotto and all had the 5 star presentation and taste of great chef and we trained staff. We finished our bottle and order a nice chardonnay from a nice selection of wines they offer. Leave some space for the dessert because there all done with home made recipes so you will love them. I want to start off by saying that I wish I could rate this Restaurant with 10 stars! Its a literall real gem in the heart of Coral Gables. Its not a huge Restaurant thats super crowded and noisy, its actually got a cozy, romantic, and more personalized feel/experience. The waiters were very attentive, they catered to our every request and need. My husband has a seafood allergy and they made sure his food was done separately and within a timely matter. The food was exquisite, I had the Fiochetti Poire, its a wonderful tasting pasta dish that has a pear sauce & WOW was it breath taking! Ive never had a better pasta! My husband had the Prime center cut filet mignon, well done and no it was not burned on the outside nor pink on the inside. It was actually quite juicy and flavorful. The service was excellent, first class, very attentive, they pay attention to every detail small and big. They truly delivered such an amazing experience! The owner Luis, he goes around to each table greets all customers, has such a passive soul, trully a wonderful person! I will definitely come back a million times again, and recommend them to everyone I know, family and friends!

My husband and I chose this place to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. We got there and were seated outside. The waiter Rafael was not very attentive as my husband was without water several times for long periods. We were there 1 hour and 10 minutes and had only been served our appetizer. The people seated next to us had already been eating their dinner a long time before we got ours. The appetizer we chose was the grilled octopus. Two small shriveled burnt pieces of octopus the size of my index finger (I have hands the size of a middle schooler btw). The potatoes it came with were flavorless. The cilantro sauce it came with just tasted like olive oil. For $24, it definitely should have been a lot better than it was. The waiter told us our dinner would be out “in a few minutes” yet 25 minutes went by and we still didn’t have our dinner. When we got our food, after being there an hour and half waiting, my husband enjoyed his 5 raviolis he got, but was left starving since it came with nothing else. Meanwhile I got the salmon that was very undercooked. After calling back the server, The waited told me they cook it medium, yet they should ask if that’s how I wanted it cooked before they serve a pregnant woman raw seafood. It was basically like pan seared. I have never ate raw salmon at a restaurant like this in my life. It was absolutely gross. The waited was rude from the moment we walked in. Everyone was treated better than we were. It was overall a terrible experience. We won’t be dining there again and will definitely never recommend this place to anyone we know. We were there way too long to have gotten only 3 plates of food. Ridiculous.

We love Fugato restaurant! The family and I went to celebrate my birthday on Sunday. We had the best time, the service was excellent and the food super delicious. We had 3 appetizers the cheese croquettes, the fish ceviche and the short rib tostosnes. I also tried the malanga soup of the day and it was great. I went for the Ozoboco with the safron risotto and wow, it was so full of flavor. The kids had the short rib parpadelle, the fettuccine a la Bolognese and my husband the chicken florentine. My son with the allergies had the grouper with grilled vegetables. This place is a little gem, you will never be dissapointed. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion, just remember you need to make a reservation.
