The Penny Farthing Cowbridge

Popped in for lunch following a shopping trip to Cowbridge. I had Lasagne with sweet potato fries. The Lasagne was the best I've had for many years with the beef so tender and tasty. The beef combined with the pasta and cheesy sauce was delightful and was complemented by the fries. Would highly recommend this meal and although not tried, the cakes looked stunning in the cabinet. The staff were very efficient and the cafe was extremely busy.

After a shopping trip to Cowbridge we decided to visit The Penny-Farthing, it was busy giving a great atmosphere. I had breaded deep fried brie, and Hazel a house salad with a couple of drinks. The food was delicious, and although busy, service was excellent, being non intrusive. A bonus for Hazel was meeting a former colleague from 20 odd years ago who was visiting Cowbridge with her nephew from St Allbans.

4 stars simply based on table service, not to be that person, but we waited a really long time (once we finished our meals) for the table to be cleared and to give our dessert order. OTHER THAN THIS, really lovely. The southern fried chicken wrap is flavourful, the burger was also delicious but the main star are the pavlova!!!! A must try, I'd drive over an hr back just for them. Honestly, bloody delicious. So light, creamy and crunchy. I also loved sauce in a mini dish, nothing beats it. I hate sachets. Staff are great and very welcoming, it's a lovely little place with a really nice garden terrace.

Visited aThe Penny Farthing lunchtime today with my siblings and two partners, we did not have a reservation but were seated immediately although it was busy. Service was excellent and friendly. I opted for breakfast which was one of the best I can remember eating, and I just managed to finish it. Freshly cooked quality items, it was delicious, and very reasonable. The rest of the party were equally impressed. I would recommend this establishment to anybody, the menu was comprehensive and had something for everyone. Well done to you. I'll be back!
