Great food, cocktails, and amazing small, dark, romantic atmosphere! Highly recommend the oysters and gnocchi! The bartender was also very accommodating and was able to modify one of their signature cocktails to make one of the most amazing cocktails I’ve had in the area! The server was sweet, but made it known they had been cut to leave during the middle of our meal which left us feeling a bit more rushed than we would have liked. This issue (feeling rushed out the door) has been my only complaint at both this restaurant and the other neighboring restaurant. However, it definitely by no means will prevent me from returning again as it’s a block away from where I live and I can’t wait to bring more friends and family back in the near future!

Food was delicious and all staff were kind and helpful! Our waiter was very funny. The atmosphere was nice except for a couple of families that were in close proximity to us. The parents were a bit rude about their children running all over the restaurant and bumping into our chairs repeatedly. Obviously not the restaurant's fault! Just a fair warning that North Dallas attracts a level of entitlement at times

I loved the warmth of the intimate lighting and petit marble tabletops. The bistro's charm extends beyond its décor, embodied by the attentive and knowledgeable staff who guide guests through a delightful experience. My culinary exploration commenced with the soup du jour, a symphony of flavors that danced on my palate. The lentil salad that followed was a delightful interplay of textures and tastes, each bite a testament to the chef's mastery of balance. For my main course, I had set my sights on the pan-roasted salmon, envisioning it nestled amidst a bed of vibrant ratatouille. However, fate had other plans, as the ratatouille was unavailable. Undeterred, I placed my trust in the chef's recommendations on the menu and ordered a side of glazed carrots, a decision I did not regret. The carrots were cooked to perfection, offering a touch of sweetness that complemented the savory salmon. The salmon itself was a masterpiece, its flavorful skin and delicate flakes infused with a smoky essence that hinted a skillful use of the grill. The accompanying sauce, a harmonious blend of butter, lemon, and herbs, elevated the dish to new heights of flavor. To quench my thirst, I indulged in the Pear Noel cocktail, a festive concoction that captured the essence of the season. The sweetness of pear brandy intertwined seamlessly with the baileys chocolate liqueur, creating a symphony of flavors that perfectly complemented the meal. Despite the absence of the ratatouille, my dining experience at Mercat Bistro would have been nothing short of exceptional but for the service. Our cocktails were so late to arrive, I had to get up and ask around why we’d had such a long wait time. They did apologize but I noticed the tables to our left and right also experienced the same delays in getting their drinks. Bar man/woman needs a Red Bull

Hubby and I were visiting Dallas for our anniversary and our family suggested this location for brunch. One word I can use to review my dish here was amazing! I had the salmon with the ratatouille and wow. The flavor coming out of that dish was great. Unfortunately, I don’t eat a lot so I couldn’t finish it but wow. Next time we visit Dallas I definitely want to eat it again. My hubby had the green Chile crepes and although the flavor was great, the crepe itself could have been tastier and a little thicker. He said my crepes are better ☺️. That’s not to say that they were inedible, it just meant he enjoyed the center part of the crepe instead of the whole thing. We had fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee and both were very tasty. Highly recommend this place if you want authentic French food. Almost forgot about the pastry basket. It was perfectly proofed and baked. The croissants were amazing!

The best french toast I have ever had, make sure you order it, Pain Perdu! Also, the ricotta & honey appetizer was delicious.

Had a Saturday brunch here, cool restaurant, super busy as it’s weekend. We had smoked salmon benedict and French Dip, they were both ok, service was great though.

Returning to a restaurant in the Hardwood District after years as an established customer, I was thrilled to rediscover its charm and exceptional offerings during their happy hour. I tried plenty of dishes before, very good! P/s: must end the date with their delectable bread pudding, a perfect harmony of flavors that left me craving for more. Don't miss out on this delightful treat!

Came here last december for a date night and it has a cool ambiance , those White huge Christmas Trees and the dancing polar bear entertained me. Service is very good, our server is very nice and friendly. Food is fine,we are just not used to french food where they have different food preparation but we love the dessert and the non alcoholic drink they have that time. I will still probably go back but will try their breakfast

Cute brunch spot with a lot of French staples! The ricotta with honey and marmalade was so fresh and creamy, it was delicious. Their fries are also super crispy, so make sure you don’t miss out on those. Sitting outside wasn’t too hot because it was fully shaded, and was really nice! The pastry basket had some good items and some okay items, could have been better with some jam or butter.

Lovely venue, and exquisite breakfast. There aren’t many opportunities in life to treat yourself to fine dining at the start of the day, so if you should ever get the chance, do yourself a favor and try Mercat Bistro. A lovely staff, well informed and attentive. Elegant and welcoming atmosphere. Appropriate for any formal meeting with 2-4 people. A lovely offering of pastries, hearty proteins, and of course coffee. I highly recommend this establishment.
