Smokey John's Bar-b-que & Home Cooking

First time coming here had a great experience. Got the lunch special the blackened beef tips in gravy over rice. Came with 2 sides and some corn bread. The mac n cheese was excellent and the yams were also excellent. This is a great soul food place. Their main focus is BBQ which I must admit smells amazing. If you come by the donut ship in the morning ING you can smell them starting up the smoker in the early morning it's a wonderful smell of mesquite wood. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere feels homely. I'll come back hopefully with friends or coworkers.

I wish the Application would allow my to add 5 more Stars. Trust me, it was that good. The food was savory, seasoned to perfection, and the icing on the cake was I received service with a smile. If I wore hats, I would tip my hat to Smokey John's BBQ. I think my favorite was the brisket and the ribs. Well, I changed my mind. I enjoyed the brisket, ribs, and the sausage:) I hope I don't get sued for using a line from a movie, however it was so good it makes you want to slap your moma:) Job well done Smokey Johns.

Not too far from the airport. Good brisket but not the best, probably because I, inexplicably, opted for the lean cut, instead of the other option, but it greatly improved when the BBQ sauce was added. Brisket can be sliced or chopped as it is cut right there in front of you. Friday's special is turkey and gravy and I definitely will give that a try if I ever get back. One of our party ordered the fried catfish and I think she should have been advised that it would take a very long time for her entree to be ready. I don't think she was as she joked that they had to go catch it first. You might want to ask about the arrival time before ordering fried catfish.
