The food is consistently good, but the wait can be a bit of a turn-off. Do not go here with the expectation that you'll get in and out - THIS AIN'T THAT PLACE! The food is made made to order and always fresh. Staff are friendly. However, you can come and stand at the counter for 15 plusinytes with no help...I'm just hoping Keith doesn't stop by...

I found out about this place off the web and decided to try it once I got to Dallas. This spot is definitely in the hood but that doesn't take away from the great food and customer service I received. Everything was fresh and piping hot. If you don't eat seafood don't worry they have other options for you and to top it off they cater to those with seafood allergies!!!!👍👍 I definitely recommend you stopping by and giving them a try. I love this place. I feel as if I'm at my Auntie house who can cook. The aromas of the food met me at the door. Yes, it is in the hood, hood. So, if you are not from a hood or grew up in the hood. The best time for you to go there like Big Redd said " your hours are 11 am to 3 pm". Bring at less a hot big head hundred because this is not the place for "the cheap at heart". The food is worth every cent. The food is cooked with love. The first-time I tried the food was on Friday afternoon. I thought about going again all weekend long. I went again on Tuesday. First of all, I must thank Felicia for her help with our order. This was our 2nd time visiting this place and let me tell you, the “ALL FRIED BOX” is everything!!! They told us in advance that they were out of lobster tails, so they gave us extra fish as a replacement. The fried corn was something I never had before and oh my goodness it was so delicious!!! The fried wings, fried catfish and fried shrimp was also amazing!!! I have leftovers for lunch tomorrow! I skipped the gym today to get this because I know they close earlier during the week than on the weekend! If you’ve not visited this little place, you must do so real soon!!! The ole skool koolaid was on point as well! The only reason I gave only 3 stars for the atmosphere is because it’s such a small place and with so many people in the inside placing orders or waiting for their food, it’s pretty loud and hard to hear. The only thing we had last weekend that wasn’t good was the “crack cookies” which are basically praline and pecans, but they weren’t fresh at all unfortunately and they tasted several days old. I believe the cookies are made by an outside vendor, but regardless they should be fresh on the shelf. I’ll definitely be returning to Aunt Irene’s Kitchen!!! ♥️
