This restaurant is at the very heart of downtown Dallas: Pacific and Akard, literally a stone's throw from the DART rail lines. So I was surprised to find the place empty at 4:30 pm midweek. I was again surprised to find a vegetarian-specific menu option, Tostadas Vegetarian. The menu description was plain and simple and so were the tostadas. As I was eating I came to a sudden, miraculous, possibly life-changing realization that the guacamole was extraordinary. Sublime, perfect mix of fresh ingredients. And then I realized the refried beans were understatedly excellent... This place deserves more guests! Even the beer was great - I've never had Dos Equis Amber before. p.s. Check out the bathrooms.

Basic Dallas Tex Mex Menu. Although the special of the day is always good. Tacos, Enchiladas, Salads, Flautas and a full bar. Real bottled drinks, plus fountain beverages. Chips are better than most and the salsa is medium hot. Service is adequate and friendly. They are quick to clean tables. Dated interior and uncomfortable seats. Sometimes there is a line, but it goes quick. The food is good, just not beyond basic Tex Mex. This is a solid place for lunch and after work cocktails. I eat here about 2 times monthly. Good price for the large portions.
