Illegal Pete's - South Broadway

My husband and I drank margaritas here on our first date; now we're happily married. Coincidence? I think not. Illegal Pete's catered our rehearsal dinner. I have nothing but happy things to say about their breakfast tacos. I was once incredibly sick and ordered Pete's online and they were out of bacon, so they substituted chorizo and wrote me the sweetest note to explain --- it's the little stuff like that which sets Illegal Pete's apart from other fast-casual dining establishments and makes it our most-frequented restaurant.

I needed some extra help with my catering order and spoke to Kat. She was amazing and had great customer service and very friendly. She got my order all squared away and took away all of my stress. I ordered a taco bar for my employees and of course; the food was fresh and very flavorful. My team was very happy and wanted me to order more for our next gathering. I love coming to this location. Thanks again Kat for making this happen!!! You deserve a raise!!!

We come to the South Broadway location all the time, because of the staff and food!!! I went to CU Boulder and found Illegal Pete’s there - so I have been a long, long, long supporter - lol! This is my first review, I wanted to share and thank Christian and Kat for being so amazing. A group of us came in for my birthday because the skinny and coin marg’s and taquitos (are my favorite around town)! Christian and Kat made it so special for me, and although Christian wasn’t bartending he brought out a cookie with candles and sang to me. It was kind and thoughtful, and from the heart. Thanks for making this “old” gal feel so special 🎂💗. Christian you are the best, finding a bartender with great customer service who can also make the tastiest cocktails is rare, and thank you!!! First time at Illegal Pete’s. They’ve got a parking lot which is awesome. I had a smothered white rice bowl. It was sooooo good and a nice big portion. My boyfriend got a burrito, but was less happy than I because his was cold for some reason. I am for sure a margarita girlie and they had a sign saying best margs so of course I had to get one. I got their basic margarita and I could not finish it. Whatever tequila they used my tastebuds did not like. If I ever travel near an illegal Pete’s again, I’ll try their other margarita and hope for the best. The bartender was super nice, but the workers on the food line were a little rude. Maybe they were stressed from the lunch time rush. Regardless, would totally go back.

First trying trying Illegal Pete’s, and it was awesome! The staff were friendly, great DJ and music, plenty of seating inside and on the patio, and great drinks and food! The Apple Izze was nice and cold and the 3 steak BYO tacos I ordered was very good too. Overall, I liked it, a great must-stop Mexican restaurant in Denver!

The margarita was disgustingly sour. I had one drink and couldn’t finish it. My partners peach drink was not good either. We had a show to get to or else we would have said something. As well, the salsas were a bit bland, like they needed some salt. The nachos, taquitos, and guacamole were to be expected.
