Genna Rae Wings & More

5 stars. Been wanting to try this place for a while and wasn't disappointed. Got the catfish sandwich (crispy) and loved it. Ordered brisket and Mac for a 2nd meal in the evening and also thoroughly enjoyed them. Gotta say though, their waffle fries are some of the best I've ever had, great seasoning. Surprised more people don't mention the waffle fries in their reviews. Also, online ordering and pickup was a breeze.

This was our first time in Denver and I'm so glad we picked this spot. We ordered Wings, Onion Rings, Waffle Fries, Mac and Cheese, and their homemade cake. The food was AMAZING. I was sad the waffle fries didn't have much flavor but still crispy. I was super disappointed with the rude children that were allowed in the store. They asked me to buy them things while mid conversation with the owner, not only that after placing my order I was then asked if my card declined for my food.. how rude. While we waited, we saw them harass other customers to pay for other things, beating on a parked camper being "funny". Not only that the disgusting language they screamed out about the food. I would suggest to the owner to avoid letting children around his restaurant because the food is to die for but getting harassed is not worth it.

My God I read an article the other day about 3 of the best fish & chips places in Denver and I went to Genna Raes website and had to try it. It's a hole in the wall in the middle of a neighborhood I went inside and there's just enough room for a counter where the register is and I was greeted by a friendly gentlemen who took my order and brought it out to me when my order was ready. First of all I wanted to try the whiting fish as I have never eaten that type of fish before but my mother talked about it from back in the day and was not disappointed. The fillets are large and are easily 12 inches long the corn meal crust is perfectly fried an crunchy and comes with a side of your choice a piece of toast and tartar sauce & hot sauce upon request.

I’ve frequented Genna Rae’s In The past and have had mixed experiences. I went during a lunch rush last week and they were extremely busy compared to most times Where you can get in & out with no problem. The customer service was fantastic I called ahead so I could skip the rush my food was ready and the man at the front provided excellent and speedy service even though it was busy. As for the food it was 7/10 I don’t know if the grease in the fryer was too high or if ordering crispy wings = Cajun but they were a little on the dark side otherwise everything was good I recommend for a quick bite of soul food if your in the area.

Today was 3rd time I visited Genna Rae’s. I live over 45 minutes away, if that tells you anything about this place. When we got our food and opened it to eat outside the restaurant. We saw 3 guys walking towards the restaurant with a smug look on their face. A look like they knew what was up. 🤭😏😁 Never been disappointed in terms of portion size or price at Genna Rae’s. It’s huge and fairly priced. Jerk Burger is THE BEST burger ever. Its huge. None of the pictures on the reviews do it justice in my opinion. Catfish AMAZING everytime 🤩 Mmmm… here comes the disappointment… that the meal is over!!! It was sooo good. Thank you!

We tried 2 other places for catfish in the area and they were all closed. Finally we found this little gem. I am from Oklahoma, but live in Montana. There is no catfish there, much less greens. These are literally the best greens I've ever had. The catfish was amazing, great flavors in the corn meal. Everyone we spoke to was super nice, and our food was brought out to us. It is take out only, bit there are a couple of picnic tables at the little library that is next door. Perfect!
