Monroe Street Cafe

My experience here was terrible the food is good but not worth the bad customer service. Our servers name was Lisa and she did not bring an appetizer we ordered even after we asked her a second time to bring it out. She never smiled and every time we asked for something it was like we were bothering her.

My Fiancée has been asking me to take her to this place for a year. We finally get around to going on 4/20/19 around 8:00pm. We did not receive our bread and salad until the food came which was 20 minutes later. No refill on water, did not ask us if we needed anything else. There was a guy working cleaning tables who helped us out when our waitress wouldn’t. I honestly felt like our waitress may have been a little prejudice. There were only three Caucasian couples having dinner including us and the waitress did not look happy at all having to serve us. Our bill came to $41.87, this is the first time in my entire life we’re I left exact change. Will not be returning to this place ever. The owner needs to run his business better. The most important thing about a business is customer service and today ours was definitely very poor.

Food was great, serves was very slow! Our waiter did not offer any house specials, unsure of the wine, we also assumed the Surf n Turf was $29, every item listed under it didn't have a price, just like "some" of the other items, so, our meal was $178 after a night at the casino for two surf n turfs, which was very good but having a price next to the items would be more understanding. Also, I know Hidden Valley Ranch when I taste it and that is their ranch for salads and dipping sauces.... Maybe making your own house ranch would be better..... Will we be back, probably not!

Funny how peoples experiences reflect their reviews. Fortunately my bf and i had a wonderful experience! We had prime rib and a porterhouse both cooked to perfection and the mashed potatoes 👌👌👌 I feel like the waitresses did the best they could. Another set of hands may have helped. The place was PACKED. We had a young friendly girl. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Monroe. A perfect edition to our weekend getaway!
