J's Cafe

I love J's. But this is my last trip there. The place is filthy all the time. After I ordered my food, I looked behind the counter in the kitchen area and almost asked for a refund. The grill was disgusting and black with bits of everything that was ever cooked still on it. All the cooked bacon was still out on the stove (after 5pm). The floors were so nasty that the grease and dirt from the kitchen were tracked out on the carpets in the lobby and were all caked up like it didn't just happen. The chef had on the dirtiest apron I even saw in any restaurant. Had to be dirty from previous days. My food had a weird taste and smell from being cooked in the filthy pots and grill. If you go, just look behind the counter in the kitchen before you order. The morning shift cleans better than the night shift but it is still one of the dirtiest restaurants in Detroit. It's time for a health department visit before someone gets sick. After 20 years of patronage, I'm done with J's. Sad.
