Starbucks

Usually I am a big fan of Starbucks and they are my go to when I want a break and a coffee but this establishment left me feeling a bit like well maybe I should have tried elsewhere the decaff coffee which is usually really good at Starbucks tasted as if the grounds had been used several times over it was definitely not to Starbucks usual standard neither was the cold drink my wife ordered which tasted as if the ingredients had been cut back on ! It must have been a bad day because the Cheese and ham toastie had very little of both cheese and ham and had been just warmed through ! The staff looked like they wanted to be somewhere else ! Disappointed !

A small Starbucks on the upper mall of the French gate, quite a small area, but good selection of food and drinks. Staff calm and friendly even at busy times. Had to ask a team member to clean our table, which they were very happy to do. Great place to relax and grab a coffee and a cake after getting off the train.

I must say the staff must of taken notice of the “not clean” reviews as everywhere was spotless. I called in was browsing the chilled foods, the young lady ( short, short dark hair ) recommended the cheese & ham croissant & also the new biscuit loaf cake washed down with the new macadamia oat milk. All very delicious as the young lady cleared & wiped tables she made a point of asking if everything was ok. The atmosphere was lovely, you could tell the store has a high volume of return clients as the staff would chat about things like exam results or pre warn them they didn’t have their usual blend.

There were 4 staff members to the left of the counter... Could have been on break, but they were just stood shouting at each other, it wasn't great because you could barely hear the guy trying to serve you at the counter. He was five star though... I tried to be creative with my drink and he gave me a great suggestion, it was incredibly busy but he still gave you the time of day rather than just rushing you through. 👌
