Dickey's Barbecue Pit

We were very disappointed with the restaurant today. We have been coming to this location most Friday's since they opened. Unfortunately we have not been in a few months due to schedule changes, we have always enjoyed the meal and the restaurant until today. On many occasions while we were there we enjoyed conversations with the owners and enjoyed the family atmosphere. The place was disgusting today and we felt uncomfortable there as a family. The sweet tea container looked as though it had not been washed in days, and the tea smelled like it had went bad and the ice cream machine had been removed. Behind the counter looked as if it has not been cleaned and every table was dirty, we had to get paper towels ourselves to wipe off a table so that we could sit down. The forks were empty as well as all of the sauces. The trash was rolling out of the trash cans into the floor. The bathroom was so nasty and trash everywhere in there as well. The employees, once they served us our food went and sat down at the bar at the front window and into the back and gave no attention to the disarray of the restaurant. They were playing inappropriate music at a level that we could not even carry on a conversation together as a family with our meal. The owners need to rescue their business before they no longer have one.

Love the ribs and Brisket. Real smoked meat .only thing I don't like is the dry pulled pork and their rolls. They should just do Texas toast or stick with the Kings Hawaiian but stop charging for a 1 roll. The sides here are amazing. The potato casserole and potato salad my fave but I tried others and they're good as well.

First time eating at a Dickey's BBQ. Nice staff, cozy "hole in the wall" feel. Had the two meat plate with Polish kielbasa and pulled pork. For sides ordered mac and cheese and a Caesar salad with sweet tea to drink. Everything was delicious. They have original, sweet and spicy BBQ sauces. I really enjoyed the spicy and the sweet. Will definitely be back.

I agree with Lauren. I had the same experience. The place is DISGUSTING. How has the health department allowed this to continue? If u need some help I have a teen looking for a job who would be glad to help you clean up. The food is good and everyone is friendly but please get the place cleaned up. I just hope I don’t get sick. I guess I shouldn’t have eaten it but my husband wanted it and I didn’t wanna make a scene by asking for a refund. But I definitely felt uncomfortable with the sanitation issues :((

Ordered online at 3:35 for 4pm pickup, got to store @ 3:55, checked in for pickup....not ready, went to Publix for some soda, came back, not ready. Sat down just knowing I'm being taken care of. By this point 10 to 15 people have come in after me and were served. Still patient, went to counter and my order had not been started. They then tell me they are out of ribs. I subbed pulled pork. A few minutes later they tell me they are out of chicken, I subbed for turkey. Five older guys walk in for dine in and get served, I'm still waiting. At this point I'm just trying not to make the news. I walk out at 5pm. This was my very 1st visit to this store. DON'T ORDER ONLINE. They have no systems in place to notify you of items out of stock. 30 years sgo, I would have made the news.

Oh how I miss this place. I was a regular before moving out of town about two years ago. I have since tried multiple Dickeys from Texas to Arizona to SC and none have come close to the Douglasville location. They also are great for catering as they provided boxed meals for multiple events for our church.
