Mama's Paradise Restaurant

This establishment has a child running the register therefore my order was messed up. I’m annoyed because the service was trash. Spent over an hour in this establishment for trash service. Left an amazing tip but won’t be returning. The audacity to ask me after closing if I wanted some spicy beef. No mama I do not! I didn’t order spicy beef I ordered 3 oxtail plates and left with only two and some wings. To be treated like I was broke busted and disgusted was not okay! You want to show me my food once you finally to make it for the second time, with an attitude of course! You didn’t show me the first plate why show me the second?? Guess it wasn’t policy the first time around. And it was nasty up in there! Floors were filthy! Clean up the service and the establishment! Approach goes a very long way! You had no idea who I was!! To watch 4 orders get messed up consecutively in a row should have been my ultimate red flag! You will never see this face or these coins again!

A co worker told me about mama paradise and I read the reviews first on this place and based upon her reassurance I did. Some people are downright just evil It's a very lovely Jamaican family running the business,I have eaten there 3 times in a single week The food is to die for,I went to bed with oxtail on my mind and wake up with oxtail still on my mind 😄😄😄😄😄 Am at a loss why this place is getting these bad reviews and am there 3 times in a single week and experience nothing but love and an open arm like family The food is soso good

First taste of Roti/chicken from the Jamaican kitchen in GA. Know roti from Surinam and Aruba from the Indian kitchen but that was years ago. Mama's roti meal is out there with the Best ,with large portions plus extras like plantains and cabbage at very reasonable prices ! If the rest of items on her menu are as good she has me as a regular customer.

We ordered an Oxtail and a Curry Goat. The food potions were very good. The rice could be steamed a bit more to lessen the dryness. Yes, the Oxtail is heavy on salt, needs some pepper and thyme added to the dish; use less browning and that would help from burning and being so black. The Curry Goat was bought on a Friday and it was not a fresh dish, and that should not happen. On the upside, chatting with the owner/manager was pleasant. Nice having all dishes available. The fridge was fully stocked and the surrounding was clean and bright.

This is definitely my favorite Jamaican spot in Gwinnett. I’ve tried a bunch of them but this one is my favorite. I’ve had stewed chicken, oxtail, curry chicken, veggie patties, chicken patties, and their Mac and cheese. ALL of it was BOMB. I invited my friend from New York who moved to Gwinnett recently and he said it was the best Jamaican he’s had in his whole year of living in Gwinnett. ZERO complaints.

I was told of this place by a coworker so I thought I'd try it at lunch the next day. So there is a lot going on as you first walk in and can be confusing, but you soon gain your bearings and figure things out. You order at a counter and they bring the food out to you in a Styrofoam container. The lady at the front counter named Paulette was SO nice and patient with me as I looked over everything. I tried the Curry Chicken and talk about FALL OFF THE BONE chicken!?!? GIRL!!! It was so tender and well seasoned! Halfway through, I got up and ordered a to-go Ox tail dinner for my wife (Remember this was at lunch, but I knew if it were half as good as my Curry Chicken, she would love me long-time). Needless to say it was so good, I have been back and I took 2 more co-workers with me. They want to make it a weekly thing. SO basically, we'll see you next week Mama's.
