China Star

Decided to try Chinese food in my area. Google recommended China Star. This place got two hundred plus reviews so I decided to check it out. The staff person was not friendly and her attitude was unwelcoming. I ordered General Tso. The vegetables fried rice was good. Now most of the reviews mentioned the portion and quality of food was bad. Here is what I found. General Tso did have lots of batter and less chicken quality. However, it did taste good. The egg roll was too oily and it did not taste good. I also ordered Spare Ribs and it was good and the portion was decent. I also ordered Jumbo shrimp these were good. China Star is located in a great location with many stores all around it. Lots of parking spaces. However, inside the restaurant had no A/C. They did have four ceiling fans blowing hot air. Therefore, expect to sweat like a pig! The restaurant is not well maintained With no access to restrooms. Expect to pay $15 plus per meals and this is without tax and drinks not included. Over all I rate this place a 3 star! Would I ever come back here? No!!! Tip for China Star, be more welcoming and friendly, remember we are all customers and can make you lots of money! Update the restaurant, provide A/C remember it’s Florida no one likes to sweat while eating hot food!!! Provide more tables and clean them up after a person eats in. Lastly it’s a restaurant so by nature people often use restrooms before and after they eat.

Located near Bealls Outlet on the opposite end from Kentucky Fried Chicken in Dunedin Plaza. They are a short distance from the Pinellas trail. This is an established local restaurant of over ten years. The kitchen looks well maintained. The food is fresh and flavorful. The portions are satisfying and the cost is competitive. The service is standard. There is ample parking.

Dude no 🥠🥠🥠??? Huh I thought that was a automatic given item??? Ok Seriously my first time trying Chinese food. Past like the stirfry I make it home that’s from a steam bag and rice…. So honestly no idea the standard here but it was that bad I had to say…..$30 later and only one item was good. And dude I LOVE rice!!!!!!! Both white rice and fried rice it was all bad!!!!! Pretty much everything veggie I ordered was cabbage and broccoli only!!! whatever happened to baby corn or snow peas or carrots or something?? The Krab Rangoon I thought was like fried cheese cake?? And no soy sauce was given, no duck sauce, no sweet-and-sour, it was really strange. (All of which i asked for) And maybe it’s because I’m new at this but the crisp noodles that I paid extra for all pretty much tasted stale maybe that’s what they’re supposed to taste like but wow… ((I’m brave enough to try one more time at a different place and if I’m wrong on my thoughts and the other place taste this way I’ll be happy to update this but otherwise run!! Not very impressed. I happened to be in the area I’m an Uber driver so I stopped in to order beef n broccoli they have two different menus one right outside the door which I looked at, too then find out that they have another menu and proceed to explain that due to food supply shortages that prices may fluctuate. Okay I understand that but when I get my food the egg roll was aight, and the quality of the beef and broccoli was okay but the quantity of the actual beef and broccoli was on the light side and the fried rice portion was more then enough. I will never return to this place or recommend it to my friends or family. Even in times of this pandemic and such I would have expected better.

Worst Chinese I have ever had. First of all..when you enter this place, it is Dark, gloomy and dirty looking. I ordered the vegetable lo mein which had a sour smell as soon as I opened the container. The onions (which there were way too many of) looked like they had been caramelized days ago and thrown into the mix. Disgusting how could you mess up vegetable lo mein? Veggies definitely not fresh at all. My friend ordered chicken wings that were soggy, and the rice 🍚 was dry. Horrible. The Health department needs to do a check up on this place🤮🤢

The prices and the portions are fairly average for Chinese takeout. sadly these are the smallest dumplings I've ever seen, they're almost like mini dumplings and don't look anything at all like the picture they have on their menu. The dumpling sauce is very spicy unfortunately I don't eat spicy food. The fried rice is very bland and very starchy it has nothing mixed in it. The vegetable lo mein was okay but nothing great. The beef with mixed vegetables was edible. This was my first time here and I will not be back.
