Pizza Express

This is my fav Pizza Express as it's always just that little bit quieter than the others so you get great personal service. Lovely views of the the Shore. Ideally situated too to walk off your lunch by walking past "Sandy" sitting on his bench across the bridge and down to the Royal Yacht to look out on the Forth and "The Man" perched at the end of the the disused pier looking out towards the far horizon. - my perfect day!

You know where you stand with Pizza Express, the quality is always consistent and if you grab a voucher code you can bag reasonably priced tasty pizzas. Although once you add wine into the mix the bill can soon start to get out of control (depending how many bottles you order). The staff are always so friendly and the styling of the restaurant is very colourful, it's an easy reliable option and one we keep returning to. The calabrese is highly recommended for chilli fiends like us!

Summary: Nice Pizza Express with views over the Shore. As Pizza Express branches go, this one follows the template pretty closely: a large, open area filled with tables and chairs, an open kitchen at the back, busy staff weaving between tables and dispensing food as ordered. The décor is professional and clean, and the view over the Shore in Leith is nice, if a little difficult to see from most tables. If you like Pizza Express, you will like this branch. If not, there is nothing here to change your mind. Those looking for a more traditional Italian experience should instead visit Giluliano's on Commercial Street just over the bridge. Also, at the time of writing this, Google Maps has the location of the restaurant in the wrong place. It is not in Ocean Terminal (though a branch of Pizza Express is there), it's on the Shore.
