A Room In The West End

Probably one of the worst dining experiences ever. A group of us went for lunch. The venue was cold and half empty - it used to be busy! The lunch menu consisted of breakfast, which ceased at 12:30, burgers, hot dogs and one or two other unappealing dishes or “mugs.” Some of us chose a “mug” of Mac cheese, which was served in a bowl, with no other accompaniments, and was dry and tasteless. My veggie burger was dry and tasteless, with no vegetables, just a huge helping of chips on brown paper! There was no non dairy milk for my coffee, just full fat cow’s milk, yuk! Very poor show. However, a large doggy bag went home for my chickens, so at least they will be happy!!

Food was great and relatively inexpensive. Probably the best haggis, neeps and tatties I've ever had! Lovely gravy. Great selection of beers and whiskys, with flights of whisky also available. I went for the lowland flight, and whilst I wasn't a fan of those particular malts, it was great to get to sample a few new ones. The pub upstairs is very welcoming - traditional with fire and boardgames.
