The Clay Oven

Been coming to The Clay Oven for many years now, both at its current place and previously when it was also a restaurant at Churchill. The quality of the food never ceases to delight and what ever your taste in Indian food you’ll find something to like here and the staff are always friendly. Highly Recommended.

Placed an order earlier tonight for collection , only had to wait half an hour which was great. Chicken Bhuna, Chicken Korma, Chicken Tikka & Buttered Chicken, Pilau rice and 2 Peshwari Nan. All amazing, good portions and very tasty. Very hot as well which is not always the case when ordering take away’s. Poppadoms we’re good but the onions & Mango sauce were a bit underwhelming. Will definitely be back for more of the curries.

Have just been tonight for dinner and drinks with a large group of people. The food was wonderful and the staff were so accommodating - we started off as 8 and then upped to 11 last minute but it was no bother to them, fair play. Possibly the best Indian food had in Edinburgh in a long while. We shall be back for sure - again in a large group. Would strongly recommend this restaurant. This is a really lovely little restaurant. It is warm and cosy inside, not a huge place but really welcoming and the staff are all really friendly and nice. They gave us plenty of time to peruse the menu, which you need as there are so many options to choose from! The food itself is amazingly good, and I can say hands down that the naan bread there is the best I've ever had! The staff members checked with us several times in case we wanted any more drinks or to see if we were enjoying our meal, but not in an obtrusive way at all. Definitely will be going back here again, and if you are thinking about trying it I would very much recommend that you do!
