Really charming, cosy and packed little restaurant with an Asian fusion menu and very friendly service. Pork Char Sui was a favourite, really delicious. Hand torn noodles with roast vegetables, sesame spinach and spicy cucumber also really enjoyable. Desert also slightly hit or miss, apple crumble really brilliant, poached pear less so. Wine good value, little hit or miss (house red was very bad, house white was great). All round a great experience and looking forward to retuning to try some different options.

A frequent lunch spot for me. Their hand-ripped noodles are fabulous and the menu frequently switches up a little: today I had a fantastic daikon and meatball soup as well. It was perfect for a cold, wet day. The service is friendly and efficient, all the drinks are fantastic. I've been once at dinner too and the food was extraordinary, I can't wait to go again.

A MUST TRY if you’re in Edinburgh. This is my first time leaving a review but I couldn’t not write something after the incredible experience we had. Pomelo is a little gem. The noodles are an essential no matter the time of day- flavorful and chewy with various flavor options to please just about anyone. I got the peanut sauce and roasted veg noodles. They were incredibly flavorful but balanced and incredibly filling. The salads were also fantastic- we got the watermelon salad which was the perfect light and refreshing starter/side. As for the staff, they could not have been friendlier. Our waitress was kind, attentive and help us make our choices. The restaurant is small so you can hear the (v. talented) chef working just off the main dining area. The food tastes as though someone made it just for you - a guest in their own home - and the food comes to you the second it’s ready. The chef even came out after our meal to thank us for stopping by. The experience was heaven and I can’t wait to visit again.

Intimate setting that makes you feel like you’re sharing a meal with everyone around you. From the smiles and empty plates around us you could tell everyone was having that same experience of a delicious meal. From the staff to the chef himself we could feel the love put into the service and food. If you are from here or traveling here I highly recommend Pomelo.

We visited Pomelo for Sunday brunch, it’s just a tiny space so booking advised. The menu changes everyday and the staff kindly recommended how many dishes to order (we settled on 6 between 3 of us). The standout dishes were: - Prawn toast with Cantonese curry, super melt in the mouth and the curry sauce was perfectly sweet and spicy. - Salmon Aburi on toast - citrusy and spicy. - Sesame salad, crunchy and refreshing against the other fiery dishes. The hand ripped noodles and pickle plate were also really nice. The only dish that we ordered that none of were wowed by was the scallion garlic roll, it was a bit sweet for our liking (brioche style). Would have loved to have dessert but honestly we were all very full! Next time…. :) The table allowance time is pretty quick (1hr -1.15), which could be a shame if you’re hoping for a leisurely dinner. Otherwise, lovely staff and extremely delicious food, would go again!

We went for our joint birthday brunch today and we couldn't have had a better experience. The staff were so so lovely and wished us a happy birthday and even took an item off our bill as a birthday treat! The food was incredible. We had the hand ripped veg noodles, chilli hash browns and the peanut butter french toast. So delicious. We will be back.

We'd wanted to try Pomelo for ages, and when we found out one of our favourite cafes was closing (Elliott's of Sciennes) our disappointment was quickly displaced by excitement that Pomelo was taking on the site to act as the home of their dinner service (among other things). It flew right past any expectations we came in with. Currently running two set sittings, the place feels part-restaurant-part-supper club with diners sharing tables and enjoying their food in a cosy, buzzing atmosphere. The menu changes all the time, but the constant are the extraordinary handripped noodles. The flavour is sensational, and even once the noodles were long gone we were all reaching for rice to soak up the sauce blend they came soaked in. It's a 'sharing plates of various sizes' kind of affair, and not a single one disappointed. Chilli smacked cucumber, radish musaengchae, prawn toast on a Cantonese curry and salmon aburi with seaweed crisp were all spectacular. But then came the Korean Fried Chicken... Huge pieces of crispy chicken absolutely DROWNING in one of the most addictive sauces I've ever experienced. None of your 'sparingly drizzled' nonsense. This is food that's been absolutely immersed in spice and flavour. Topped off with a choux bun with hojicha creme, one of those desserts you definitely don't need but absolutely must have. The team at Pomelo are so warm and friendly, you leave just willing them to succeed. I doubt they'll need any good luck, it's such a wonderful neighbourhood addition to Edinburgh's food scene.

I've been coming to Pomelo for the best part of a year and I have no intention of stopping any time soon. The food here is mostly Asian Fusion and it's all made with extreme care and balance between flavours. My favourite has always been the hand-ripped noodles which you can often hear being pulled fresh from all the way in the kitchen! If you ever get the chance, definitely order dessert too. It is always incredibly light, delicately sweet, and the perfect way to end a meal. Staff at pomelo are incredibly nice and helpful. They're always ready to offer suggestions, explain the menu, and are very patient. Drinks prepared by the waitresses have always been lovely. The decor of Pomelo is really unique and in touch with the food - with Asian Fusion art and relaxed seating. Needless to say, I thoroughly recommend the experience to anyone in Edinburgh.

I have been coming to Pomelo for the past year as my home away from home, I cannot recommend it enough! When I first discovered the place with my asian mother, she made me promise to come here at LEAST once a week. I've kept that promise and have always been satisfied with the food. The menu is always changing and constantly reinventing itself! Leaving something for every customer. I really recommend their desserts and the hand ripped noodles!!! If you do have the chance, don't miss out on this place!
