Melt Shop

The best way I can describe Melt Shop is this: the food you see in commercials is usually photoshop and dolled up to look as good as possible. Go look at a Mcdonalds ad for a big mac then go get one, they look completely different. Every time i've gone here, maybe 5 or 6 times, the chicken sandwich literally looks like it should be in an ad. This place is amazing, although it is VERY greasy so be prepared.

Melt Shop has made it's way to central Jersey! I tried a Melt Shop in NYC and it was so good! I actually think I enjoyed my experience at the Menlo Park Mall a bit more because, in the food court, there was ample seating compared to the location in NYC. I also think I prefer the sandwiches with chicken over a plain or signature grilled cheese. I absolutely loved the fried chicken with slaw grilled cheese as well as the buffalo chicken grilled cheese. I wish the burger grilled cheese could come with a slaw type accompaniment as well. Pros: the bread is truly amazing as it is buttered and crisped to perfection. The tots are CONSISTENTLY crispy and do not disappoint. I really enjoy their milkshakes which are prepared quickly and made to order. I would recommend their Oreo or Nutella flavors. Cons: You can definitely run up the cost of a meal if you order an entree, sides, and a pricier drink like a milkshake. So, it can feel a bit expensive considering you are essentially grilled sandwiches but it doesn't have to be a splurge every time depending on the items you pick, the cost will range. Highly recommend, I actually think I prefer this restaurant over chick-fil-a across the other side of the food court!

It was quite the party on a Saturday with a DJ and prizes! My husband won a free sandwich and I won a free melt shop tote. Great friendly service. I ordered the grilled chicken melt with shop tots and a nutella shake. Loved the sandwich. The sun died tomatoes made the flavor burst and the sandwich not as dry. The tots were just the right amount of crisp. The nutella shake was a bit too sweet for my liking. You really have to be in the mood for all that chocolate. My husband ordered the Turkey melt with loaded tots and an oreo shake. I liked my sandwich a bit better than his. I found his to be a bit dry. The cheese and bacon on his tots made it a bit too salty. I did like his shake better though. Overall, great experience and good food. I forgot had my fill and walked away happy.

Just like the other reviews mentioned this place is in a food court and meant to be "fast food." It's pretty good considering the fact. Everything was made fresh to order and I liked that they have portion options as well as a "pager" letting you know when your order is ready. The buffalo parmesan chicken tenders were very good and their service was fast and efficient. That's what you want when you're on a lunch break or in between shopping. Highly recommend trying it out.
