The Wine Room

Mona and Tanelle were soo knowledgeable and really made the experience what it was…AMAZING!! The wine selection was impressively extensive to fit all occasions (pictures of our 2 favourite from the evening are included). The charcuterie board was soo fresh with unique cheeses, fruit, nuts, chocolate, bread, crackers, figs and sooo much more. The ambiance was 2nd to none, I felt like It was an escape to a swanky hidden gem from NYC.

I’ve had more inviting experiences at the dentist. A month in advance of our visit, we made an email reservation, per their odd system, and received confirmation that we were booked. I even called the day of our dinner—a birthday celebration with friends—to confirm our attendance. But when we arrived, the restaurant was locked. Turns out, the woman who’d emailed me a month prior was in the pub next door. She told us nobody had reservations at The Wine Room that night (now I see why!); I let her know she herself had confirmed our spot. We were curtly told to wait at the front of the pub and she’d open the restaurant. After 10 minutes of waiting, feeling like an inconvenience to them, we left and went to Bar Bricco, where we had a beautiful evening. Absolutely will not be back—not that they’ll care.

Great experience. Had a wonderful couple of times here now. Truly a romantic experience as the booths are comfortable and somewhat private. Lighting is dim and sounds do not carry. A great intimate place to share with someone special. The wood ceiling gives the impression that you are in a barrel. With it's gentle curves. The wine is varied and tasty. Selection is great. Charcuterie board is a wonderful tasty experience to share. Best I have ever had.

First time visiting the Wine Room last weekend, beautiful ambience with candles lit everywhere. Our server was very patient with us and answered all of our questions with great knowledge. He made some great recommendations as well. We shared a meat and cheese board which was delicious and the wine was even more so. The restaurant is quite small so I'm glad we made reservations as it did get full.

Great spot for wine by the glass (and an expansive & elegant selection of bottles as well) and charcuterie! Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Beautiful, unique interior. Clearly, a lot of thought and attention to detail went into the atmosphere - they have created a wine cellar experience in downtown Edmonton! This would be a cozy spot for a winter date night, but found it a little dark and dim for a summer's evening out.
