Petros Kafe

Petros is an upper tier casual Greek/Mediterranean place in the charming city of El Segundo. Offerings and costs here cover a range from the simple soup to a rack of lamb. The service people were nice however the back kitchen seemed slow to get out the entree, all was forgiven however as my lamb was cooked to perfection. If you are in the are and want a nicer venue that offers more than the standard burger Petros is worth considering. You can dinner here and then drive over the hill to Dockweiler State Beach for a great day. The sunset from there never disappoints.

This is a really nice spot for a bit more upscale dining without getting to be pretentious like some of the Manhattan Beach places can be. The service was fantastic and the food was really good if not more of a fusion spin on Greek as opposed to authentically Greek cuisine. I had the Gyros plate and the meat was very well done with the right amount of seasoning and beggies to go along with it. the sauce was great! The only ding is for the dried out pita bread which was tough. I got the accompanying arugula salad which was a fantastic surprise as a choice (it is usually fries and a house salad). My colleague ordered the Greek pizza which was very good! Will be back to try more things on the menu!

We were searching for a local place to eat and settled on Petros. I was hesitant since we were looking for a place for dinner and the restaurant looked like a family place but I'm glad we went in. The food was terrific. Try the roast chicken if you can - only offered as a special. It was delicious along with the rest of our meals. My son thoroughly enjoyed his mushroom risotto.

Although the atmosphere was pleasant, I went there for great Greek food. I was disappointed. The 4 cheese appetizer (kafteri) was plain, no peppers detected, and VERY salty. I would recommend skipping it. I had the moussaka and would recommend skipping that too. No eggplant that I could tell, and the meat mixture was so salty it was hard to eat. My guest had the grilled chicken on skewers with rice and that was cooked nicely, but not dressed with Greek seasonings. Although there was a lamb pizza and burger, the menu lacked grilled lamb chops or any other dinner entree. With a couple glasses of wine, dinner was $100. Absolutely not worth it.

Petros Kafe Closed. Unfortunately Petros decided to persue this location as a steak & chop restaurant. The good or bad opinion of the new venture is yet to be determined ***** Petros's Kafe in El Segundo offers his high quality Greek inspired fare. Much more causal than his Manhattan Beach restaurant, and more affordable choices. Located the a very contemporary space with the best parking location in the area. Good choice for a nice meal and relaxing atmosphere.
