Ellsworth Steakhouse

If you are traveling through or near Ellsworth, KS, this is a must stop. The staff is warm, friendly and welcoming. The steaks were some of the best we have had and we have all eaten steaks all over the US. The quality was outstanding at any price point, but getting such a great meal at the price we paid can’t be beat. If we are ever near this area again, you can be sure we will be visiting again. This is a sweet little gem that should not be missed. Great food. Great people. Wonderful dining experience.

We went to the steakhouse with quite a large group of people. Our mood was a little somber, as our extended family was in town for a funeral. Rick, Sophia, and the whole crew did a great job catering to our "needy" family. I guess you could say it made me proud to show off the best restaurant in my hometown to the out of town family members. Thanks for the great dinner!

The food at the Ellsworth Steak House was the worst meal my husband and I have ever had. It took 50 minutes to bring our food out and the place was not that busy. My brisket was nothing but 90% fat, the whipped potatoes were worse that instant. No flavor to any of the food. My husbands hamburger was plain and over cooked, the French fries were to salty. When asked if everything was good my husband told the Lady no and explained she said sorry and still charged us full price for a meal that was not eaten because it was so bad. What a great reputation you want to let your customers have. Will never eat at this poor establishment again.

One of the best kept secrets of Ellsworth! Every Sunday they have all you can eat of both breakfast and lunch. Along with freshly made desserts. All for under $10.00, plus if you are a senior 65 and over you get a discount. Open 9 am to 1 pm so fits almost everyone's schedule. Sidenote: I ate to much so I had to walk home.

Ordered the prime rib, rare. Was very good, juicy, and tender. That being said, the wait was much to long. We were there at 5:00 pm, only 1 couple there that already had their food. We ordered with in 10 minutes and waited on the appetizer for a good 30 minutes, (the bruschetta). Took almost an hour to get the special, which was prime rib and 2 sides. Didn't have the 2 sides we wanted, (sweet potato fries or ESH chips). Seemed as though the hostess and the waitress seemed to be fighting. There were at least 3 couples and a family that left before they ordered, because the waitress never went to their table after they were seated. As we were leaving there was a couple talking with the hostess and I heard them say they'd never be back, because of the long wait and slow service. I had to wear my jacket cause it was so cold in there. The plus to the whole thing was that the restaurant interior was nicely decorated and female's bathroom was neatly decorated and clean. All that being said, we will not be going back.
