Tony's Pies

This review is for family sized pies. I ordered 3 family pies, Steak & Potato, Pepper steak and Curried steak for the birthday dinner 1 day in advance. All pies look so delicious😋 and Curried pie pastry was fresh but others weren't fresh. Pepper steak tasted moldy and inedible🤮→🚮 ☆ -5 PLEASE...the owner should try taste how awful they are. My family was worried stomach-ache after tried Tony's pies. Steak and potato pie was edible ☆1 but the beef tasted dry beef which had spongy beef texture (like beef in instant noodles) Potato topping was very starchy and chewy, more like gnocchi butter dough on top of a pie🥧 Curried pie tasted funny sweet soup curry☆1 All of us not just didn't enjoy anything but so worried food poisoning from moldy taste🤢 I found this store by Web search and was only the place currently available to purchase hot family sized pie near by. How incredible to find the nice reviews and I totally believed in. We then compared both Tony's steak & potato pie vs frozen Four'n twenty Angus beef pepper pie. Four'n twenty was tasty👍 and Tony's was bad taste. I am guessing Tony's family sized pie is frozen old pie or using worst quality of beef👎 I really want to get refund. Worst pie ever😖😖😖 We were so disappointed and will make up good birthday dinner tomorrow😛

Overall: 4/5 Quiet local bakery that has been known to many for years as a family favourite. Serving an amazing library of pies and sausage rolls, I had to try it out! Mushroom and steak pie 🥧 (4/5): their most popular pie, did not meet my high expectations. A bit too peppery for my liking. Mushroom and steak pie but I could barely make out the mushroom flavour. Wished the pie pastry was flaky. The crust had a nice thin layer which I liked about it. The highlight of the pie was probably the fattiness of that good quality steak that just melts right in the mouth. Some bits were a bit overcooked, but very yummy. A bit overrated despite the abundant amazing reviews, but it was very mediocre for me. Then I think about it, when do you ever get pies freshly made and bought? Most people just get their frozen pies from the supermarket. Worth the experience and you will most definitely see me back here! Food: 4 Value: 4 Ambience: 3 Service: 4

OMFG YUM!!! Finally, the smell of a REAL bakery! Perfect crispy buttery pasty, delicious and plentiful fillings and heaps of flavours to choose from! Add a seafood pie to the menu and it's complete! Didn't think I'd find pies that taste like old school country bakeries but this is a real gem. I'll be back over and over!

Where else to have a locally made and well cared for Pie? Great pastry (not too buttery and not cheap), lots of real flavours and awesome fillings. Great service too. I had a blueberry pie via the fundraising pie drive with the 5rh Keilor Scouts over 15 years ago and I was hooked. It's hasn't changed at all!
