Highland Inn

Been coming here a few years, mostly takeout. Consistently good food and friendly service. Pizza, burgers, cheeseballs, etc...all good, tried the new roast beef sandwich from the special menu last night, YUM! It can get loud depending on the crowd but never obnoxious (unlike some other places in town I'm sorry to say). You can sit and talk with your wife here, which is what I witnessed last night, couples enjoying their Friday dinner. I'll be back for more, I recommend you give this tavern a try.

First visit to The Highland Inn. The food was as good as any bar restaurant and the help (minimal) as friendly and reasonably attentive. 10 - 15% higher than many bar/restaurants in the Evansville area. parking and easy access. This old tavern restaurant that is clean and good. Surrounded by a parking lot that is easy to access. I will try again sometime.

We've been getting carryout and the food is really good. Best meatloaf around. They have curbside pickup. Only complaint is we ordered fries crispy one time and they were barely fried let alone crisp. But give them a try. Update, 7/6/22, tired of always having something amiss with the carry out orders. Ordered slaw and specifically asked that it be in a separate container so the juices wouldn't run all over the other food. Person taking the order confirmed. Slaw slopped into the hot food container, see pic. Also, tired of places that think it's okay to put cold items into the same to-go container with hot items! Is the cucumber salad served on the same plate as the meat & potatoes? No! it's in a separate dish! Should be no different with to-go orders. Sadly, it's not possible to review different visits, some are good, some not so good.

I began coming here recently, I loved it. Until this evening. The woman who owns this establishment, ruined it. She has the worst attitude. It's good food but your not a Michelin chef. Stay in the kitchen and let the bartenders and waiters do their job. I'll never be back and it sucks because I like it there.

We ordered two 12 inch Strombolis. The filling good, definitely enough for two people. Our other order was a breaded tenderloin and that person said it was very good. The Stromboli was on a hoagie bun, I'll say it was fresh. Service was good. It was a Wednesday. We were there basically for socialize and our timing was good. Not real busy and the waitress kept the tea and coke coming. We had a good time.
