Grace's China Buffet

In principle, the usual buffet, except for a very, well, just a very modest choice. The bill has been waiting for a long time, although in all the buffet they bring it as soon as I take the sweet. There is almost no sweet - 1 cake and 3 cookies, as well as fruits - orange, kiwi, banana and all. I certainly ate plenty, but being accustomed to more dishes in such places - I was very depressed. Although, unlike other establishments, crabs lay quietly and nobody touched them, while in others they desperately did not lie for more than 2 minutes. In general, very conflicting emotions.

I've never written a review before but this place was so bad it inspired me to write this. The food is horrible. There is little to no selection that could actually be classified as food. This was the worst experience I've ever had coming to a buffet. Never again stay away. This was a waist of money. I would rather eat out of the dumpster behind McDonald's. Update to my review got food poisoning while I was there and then the owner refused to give me refund or discount after I only ate two chicken wings this is the worst experience in my life stay away. Calling a health inspector tomorrow when they are open this place needs to get shut down. Witch is the Chester County Board of Health

Was a little skeptical of going because of the reviews, but I'm glad I did. I wanted to check it out myself. Maybe it had something to do with me going on a Thursday evening, but I was truly satisfied especially with how fresh the seafood was. The squid was actually tender. Never came across a buffet that actually cooked it right and with flavor. The oysters were also really fresh. As far as the rest of the food, it was really good and had a lot of flavor. Would definitely go here again if I'm ever in the area. As far as the staff, they were really friendly. I was impressed how the staff even walked around with a little child who was unable to help herself and helped her to get everything she wanted to eat.

Been here and the waitress is very rude. Expects a tip at the end of my meal. But never ask to refill my drink but will take your plate as your still eating to rush you out the door.. Looking at the rating everyone has the same story. The owner is one of the owners she just as rude as everyone else and she a waitress . Today I came in and saw roaches crawling all over the floor where the bathrooms are . Chester county food inspection needs to look at this buffet. I’ll never come back . Disgusting

As a restaurant, uncapable of providing decent service per best standard is one thing, serving its customers with bad, rotten food intentionally is another. Our dinner experience at King Buffet at Downingtown, PA belongs to the latter. The seafood (including shrimps and clams) appeared to have gone bad and, therefore, had a strong smell; fruits were rotten and tasted sour - none of us took any piece but spitted out instantly. It appeared that most, if not all, of the food being served at the time were not prepared in fresh. Sadly, neither of the two waitresses had delivered any apology even after we complained about the quality and the possible hygiene issue of their food. Rather, they claimed their food were always of high quality. However, they refused to even smell the food, let alone tasting. Later we were told that this restaurant was notorious for its food quality and hygiene problem, and had been shut down once in the past years. It looks like their infamous reputation did not prevent themselves from serving rotten food to the community and they are continuously doing so till today.

Their food is pretty good. The staff is friendly as well. I really like their pepper chicken, vegetable lo mein, and spring rolls. They have a decent selection of fish/seafood, but I'm not a big fish eater myself, so I haven't really tried any of it. They have an indoor Koi pond, but it looks like it's overdo for a good cleaning. Dinner cost us around $15/person including drinks.

I know there is a culture difference however, their rudeness goes above and beyond that. The food is no where as good as it could be for all of the employees to be so rude. On top of that, the price is sleekly too high. When they are done with drinks and service fee! Which I'd poor at best, you wonder what you paid all that money for. So if there's a service fee I hope they don't expect a tip!
