This original Ricky's has so many memories for me .The little sandwiches are a great bargain at 4 for 5 dollars.Even though I use to buy them 7 for a dollar and remember my Dad saying he bought them for his customers at 20 for a buck! So happy they are still open here. The decor well it's nostalgic. Transport you back in time. The sandwiches are a great way to feed a crowd and the bbq plates are amazing.Never had a bad experience with the food.I will say if you are into fancy this is not for you. Also it is a very small place mainly used for take out but there is a small area with tables to eat in. A true landmark for the Northside.

I've been eating here since I was born. After 46 years I still love this neighborhood staple. Whenever I'm in town I always try to stop and get something. never disappoints instead of barbecuing went there for the 4th of July got our plates ate. and left food is always good delicious affordable and seasoned properly.

I live their bbq beef ribs! Meaty and delicious. Well, worth it! My mom had the plate special for Thursday and it was half chicken and 2 sides. Very delicious. Our only issue was the potato salad was more mushy and beans had a different taste but they were still good. Being at the originial place, everyone was friendly and nice. We will definitely be going back. ☺️😁💜

Burgers are half the size of the bun and a little dry. Definitely better with the bbq. Portions are small for the prices. While asking someone outside if we had arrived at the right place he was quite rude. Saying "ma'am this is the reason people often don't see Bigfoot in the woods. Because it's right under their noses." we explained to him that we were not from here and just wanted to make sure that we were in the right place and didn't need the rude comment. After he walks away we realize he is a worker at the place that we're getting ready to eat at so that was a little concerning. We almost decided to eat somewhere else because of it.
