Habanero's Fresh Mex Cantina

This was the time we've been here as we just moved to the area. The taco salad I had was excellent as were the ranchero beans. My son had the quesadilla burger which, unfortunately left a lot to be desired. The tortilla used was really smart and the hamburger patty was very thin. It's size was more like a kids meal than an adult meal. We ordered our food to go but what we could tell about the environment was really inviting and comfortable. The one other thing that was SO frustrating is the person who took my order. I called the first time to ask a couple of questions which she herself had to ask (which is fine). But, the frustrating part was that she was very distracted!! I just figured she was busy and thought nothing more about it until I called back to place our order and it happened again. When I asked her to repeat the order she sighed but did it. I felt the need to ask because again she was very distracted and it was necessary to repeat several things more than once. When we got home and opened our food there were things we'd asked for about the food that were incorrect. Fortunately, we were still able to eat it. The thing I made sure my son asked for when he went in to get our order was silverware to which she (the same girl who took out order is who waited on him when we got there) she was quite rude and said, "I'm sure it's in there." Well, it wasn't. I have her name but I don't feel like shaming her publicly. Lastly, my understanding based on the online menu is that each meal was supposed to come with chips and salsa. However, all we received was one small container of salsa and one very small bag of chips. As I stated at the beginning, my food was great but everything else made our first time only mediocre. Esp. considering I received a gift card to eat there as a Christmas present.

Stopped by during labor day after our visit to stockyards! Place has a decent ambiance. We were promptly seated and were served chips and salsa. They also have a salsa station with multiple options. Habanero Salsa was a bomb! We ordered queso, veg fajitas, fajita bowl, Monterey jack Chicken and kids cheese quesadilla. Veg Fajita was decent, queso and Monterey jack was very good! Veg fajita was okay, it was overfilled with lettuce. I would loved to have more rice and beans! While we were having lunch, owner came and introduced himself and mentioned they bought the place less than two weeks ago and offered Sopapillas and cinnamon ice cream! The dessert was the best part of the lunch! They gave us two of them for party of 6!

First visit, I ordered a combination (chicken and steak) chimi with rice and refried beans. Salsa bar was nice, so I could have the salsa I preferred with my chips. Portions were very big and I could have easily split the plate into 2 meals but it was good, and I ate 3/4 of the food. Meal was priced right and I was happy with this experience.
