(Nov 2023) never disappoints. Worth the wait…but oof it was a long wait lol got there at 6:20pm on a Friday and was quoted for an hour and 20 min. They take your phone number and will call you. We decided to just wait in the restaurant instead of going out somewhere else while we waited. Got seated after 2 hours. Normally wouldn’t wait that long for dinner but here is worth it. But definitely recommend arriving 15-30 min prior to opening (depending on the day) to get in on the first seating, otherwise you’re gonna wait.
The crab hand rolls are amazing. Also salmon belly. You can def go super expensive and lavish or keep it a little cheaper by ordering the hand roll combos (4 for $16.50) and a few other bites like salmon bell ($3.95).
Update March 2023 - continue to love this place so much! Fresh, delicious, great quality!
Love this place so much…would be here every week if I lived in Fort Worth (or 35W construction wasn’t so terrible). Simplistic and perfect little set up. The servers are so great, very friendly and the sushi chefs are so talented. The fish is so fresh, clean and delicious. It’s always so hard to choose. Lots of affordable options but it can def get expensive very fast depending on what you choose. Menu changes daily, up on a chalkboard which they post on the IG stories daily. The salmon belly is a must. The crab handroll is great. Lots of options for hand rolls, sushi pieces and sashimi.

Wonderful sushi. It can add up $$ but very much worth it. All the fish was very tender. The daily specials were creative and yummy. We had to wait 45 minutes, but that was also worth it.

Fantastic food. We went for a late lunch and everything we tried was great. We did a 5-piece combo and also a bunch of rolls from the daily specials menu. Fish was great quality and flavor and service was actually really fast considering how busy it was (whole bar was still full). I'm trying to find a way to get back to FW just to get back here!

My only favorite sushi restaurant in DFW area!
It is truly impressed! Firstly, the ingredients were incredibly fresh, and I could taste the ocean in every bite. Secondly, the variety was extensive, featuring not only classic sushi but also creatively crafted specialty rolls, each with a unique flavor. Most importantly, the taste was superb—tender textures, perfectly balanced seasoning, making it a true delight for the taste buds. BTW,make sure you order real wasabi,it will make a big difference!
Definitely deserving of a five-star recommendation!

Hatsuyuki Handrolls Bar is a culinary delight! We arrived there right before open, but we still had to wait 40 minutes because there were already people in line.
This Japanese eatery in the heart of Fort Worth offers an exquisite selection of handcrafted sushi handrolls that are a feast for the senses. With fresh ingredients and skilled chefs, it's a must-visit for sushi enthusiasts.
The ambiance was also great! Attentive servers, and the guy at the front desk gave me lots of great recommendations. He said to start with the specials, and then order handrolls to get full.

A Hidden Gem for Handrolls and More
Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar is an absolute delight for sushi enthusiasts. I went for lunch and was immediately impressed by the warm, friendly ambiance and quick, attentive service. The crispy nori, well-seasoned sushi rice, and generous fillings make for a memorable handroll experience.
The Seared salmon belly nigiri was a revelation—it simply melted in my mouth. I opted for the 5 hand roll selection and the crab roll stood out as a clear favorite. Pro tip: don't miss out on their secret menu, which features an A5 Wagyu handroll that's not to be missed.
If you're a fan of high-quality sushi and handrolls, Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar should be at the top of your list. Highly recommended!

I love sushi and have eaten at a number of restaurants in the DFW area trying to find the place to go to satisfy my tastebuds as I am very picky in regards to sushi. Some of my top places are Shinjuku Station, Uchi, Uchiba, and Little Lilly’s but this place is by far my favorite for sushi. There is something about the quality of the fish and how it is prepared that cannot be replicated and seriously just sings in my mouth when I eat it. I swear, I come out of this place with a huge smile on my face. There is always a line and it is expensive but all of it is well worth it.

First time at Hatsuyuki and we’ll definitely be back after hearing multiple positive reviews! Uni, kanpachi, and eel hand rolls were delicious. We’re excited to be back and try more special items on the list. Wonderful experience and the chefs are highly attentive and skilled

It was my first time at Hatsuyuki and first time in Texas. My friend took me to this spot and staff there was warm and welcoming, like many of the Texan locals I met. Food was delicious and priced well compared to New York. If/when I return to Fort Worth, I will definitely return to Hatsuyuki!
